The MMA thread

Tough watch. Tony should retire but feels he might go the Bigfoot Silva route to provide for his family.
I remember hearing that he trained for insane, like 10 hours a day, never left the gym. I genuinely think he just doesn’t know what else to do.
The Ufc should move him quietly along….he’s already pretty close to permanent damage and it looks a bit sad wheeling his corpse out to take more every 6 months

Good call that last fight. Pereira killed Jans right leg and after 2nd round he looked shot. Split decision is just right

Lets go poirier!

I hope after this we don't see Masvidals face ever again. Annoying trump loving dumb ass overrated twat.

Jumped to the Bellator x Rizin event. Horiguchi about to fight.

feck. Fight declared NO Contest after an eye poke seconds into the fight.

Yeah I can't stand that sleezeball
Good Ol' Herb "Herb" Dean! Showing that bum Goddard how it's done.

I was actually surprised by his reaction. Saved the weed for after the event for once.

Pereira is definitely a beast of a man. I honestly thought Jan would've overpowered him.

Justin and Dustin was always going to be an entertaining one. Its just crazy what Khabib did to the pair of them.

Dana needs to block Ferguson from the octagon, if his people won’t make him stop. He’s an absolute shell of the fighter he was, like the Nick Diaz parodies in slow-motion.

Poirier's hopes or another title shot in tatters. He sounded unsure about whether he wanted to continue fighting in the post event press conference. He said he won't fight for the sake of fighting, and that he wanted to fight for titles. That's out of the window at the moment.

I think both of them know fighting for the title sounds great, but is not a hill they can actually climb; all well and good going through the motions, but once you’ve got your money straight and have avenues outside of fighting itself, enthusiasm is likely to wane.

I think the next defeat for Gaethje will result in similar angst.

Isn’t Justin a trump boy as well.

Safe to say that the chances of any UFC fighter having politics we agree with are slim to none. Not as bad as golfers but not far off.

Yeah, seems to be the case. Maybe there's a relation between repeated knocks to the head, oxygen brain shortage because rear naked chokes every monday and a certain political worldview?

Soul destroying for him considering the calibre of his CV, which is up there with anyones, that he’s doomed to be a nearly man.

His chance was against Oliviera. He has no chance against Khabib, now there’s another Khabib in the way, plus he’s just dropped down the order.

Probably time to hang them up and enjoy his money

Titles or big fights. Could fight Conor again, Nate if he comes back to the UFC, maybe Colby at 170 (although he's shot down this idea in the past).

We'll see what he does. He's probably still only a couple of wins away from the title, and I don't think there's a suggestion he's slowing down. Simply got beat here by a quality shot out of the blue that he didn't see. It can happen to the best of them, as it literally did to the then P4P #1 in Usman.

The main issue there is that he has already said he doesn't want to fight up-and-comers. If and when Charles loses to Islan in October though, I think that would be a good fight for him and one that I'm sure would motivate.

Love watching Cory fight but I just can’t do it two weekends in a row :(

"Jaula" Bahamondes fight night!

His fight vs Klein has all the ingredients to be FOTN.

ps.

Yes! This one is gonna be a banger. Of course i want Jaula to win but in MMA is like it can go either way anytime

Shame it's not the original matchup as Cory vs Umar would've been tasty but this is still a solid fight. I'll probably watch the prelims and then call it, really wish these cards were on just a couple of hours earlier.
