The MMA thread

Was he? I felt like Charles was doing more off his back than Dariush was on top.

He was definitely fighting back but unless he did something spectacular off his back, the guy on top was always going to get the better of it. He did try a heel hook and managed a few elbows though. Dariush got more quality shots in from on top. A moot point in the end since Charles' stand up ended up being better than his ground game.

This was fixed right? I mean come on.....Aldana didn't even try and what kind of UFC fighter does not train on the ground???

I wonder what the UFC does the LW title now. There's a short turnaround after the Dustin Justin fight and chances are that each would take damage that makes that quick turnaround for the October Abu Dhabi cars difficult.

Even though the last fight was one sided, I don't see who they book Makachev against other than Charles.

Vettori is just ridiculously durable. One of the best chins I've ever seen. That was a fun event with some impressive performances. Much better than last night's Bellator, which was dull yet again even with some big names on show. I just can't warm to their events, although Pettis looked very good.

Sandhagen vs. Umar is a proper match up

Great fight and massive credit to Sandhagen for taking it. But man, now that Cejudo-Chito has been announced or 282, what a giant middle finger to the Sandman.

Dominates Chito and instead of being in immediate title contention, gets matched up with a monster prospect who's barely ranked. Meanwhile Chito gets a fight against the #3 ranked contender who's coming off a split-decision title fight loss.

You gotta figure as well with it being on the 282 card - and all the hoopla around Aljo and whether he'll end up showing up - that this is also a backup for the main event.

Always wanted to see O'Malley-Chito 2, but not under these circumstances.

O'Malley vs Chito 2 for the belt UFC282

Would be funny and I can see it happening. Sterling better show up.

I'm glad Sandhagen accepted the fight vs Umar. Should have definitely been Chito's punishment fight, but kudos to Cory for wanting to test himself against the best. A delight for us fans.

Good fight night tomorrow (An early one too, so good news for european fans)

O’Malley vs Sandhagen would be grand. Mostly because Cory fecks him up

Ouch, that eye poke on Tafa looked terrible, hopefully no serious damage. Looking forward to the main event.

Barber with a good win, those 2 beat the snot out of each other. Main event up next, I fancy Topuria to get it done but Emmett has dangerous power.

Really excited to see Topuria vs the top dogs in the division after that, Emmett was just too wild with his striking and got picked off, unreal toughness though.

Looked like the Man City of fighters. Technically excellent but somehow I didn't care.

Harsh on Topuria. The Man City of fighters would definitely be a grapple-heavy smotherer who grabbed the cage and oil checked people
