The Manchester Title Race

Comments like this make me wanna lose the title, almost.
What?? Why??
We are in really good position but yeah it still isn't in the bag although we are in really good position and I just don't expect us to feck up.

Blackburn away, the fixture after Monday's game is the one I fear most at this time of writing. It pretty much cost us the title in 2010, and in 2011 we could only draw there, not to mention they've beaten us already this season.

well I doubt the manager or players will get complacent anyway

city havent played well for a while now

they were fortunate when essien gave away that silly penalty, stoke didnt play great today i felt but still got a draw and i can see them dropping more points especially away from home

It's certainly not over, but tonight's result certainly strengthens United's position as favourites. I can only see this result being a boost for our players ahead of the Fulham game.

It was strange to see City's lack of ambition to win the game tonight, once they got that pretty fortunate equaliser. From the way they played, and judging by the comments of a couple of their players after the game, they seemed to think a draw was a good result.

arsenal will beat city

Blackburn are not what they were and i think we will put them away.

Tells you all you need to know about us and them. We were beating Norwich, they got an equaliser and we never stopped until we got that winner right at the death.

That attitude will hopefully win us the league.

Yeah both Toure and Platt suggesting the point might just be a point gained come the end of the season. I suppose a point at Stoke after going a goal down is a good result, but surely not at this time of the season.

Well we've had a good laugh at City and Liverpool today. Lets hope we are still laughing on Tuesday. Players need to have the right attitude on Monday, Fulham will not be a walkover.

We must eat away their goal difference while we can. Citys wheels may be falling off but they still have plenty of time to this around.

Draw Sends City to Summit

That's the actual front of espn soccernet. Talk about missing the point.

With Valencia back, and our defense looking good again we'll trash them.

I know Blackburn shocked us all by winning at OT, but our away form has been magnificent this season, and hopefully that will continue at Blackburn's ground.

We have a settled CB partnership who're playing great together, Rooney is banging goals in, Valencia has came back from his injury like he was never gone and our injuries have settled down it seems (touch wood!).

Most importantly, we have something called momentum. Also, we know the experience it takes in this type of situation, City don't.

Our players know what's at stake, they know their jobs, they know what they need to do and I can't see us taking our foot off the gas now.

Come on United :devil::devil:

cos its hardwired deep into every single one of our players mental hard drive.

We are winners. And we know how too.

Lets see if City atre too.

saw that and couldn't believe my eyes. missed the point is an understatement. they should have had a photo of mancini as the final whistle was being blown. the look on his face said it all.

They are untill atleast monday, possibly beyond if we feck up which I don't think we will.

Well yeah... But as people above mentioned that is not the story of the day/match. Common sense says it should be something along the lines of "2 points dropped for City".

Great point by Stoke! Crouchosaurus! Need a win by Monday, which would be insane.

Still think we will win by April 30th!

I see the point, I just find it strange that someone would find it so funny when it's just a headline which isn't actually incorrect.

well to be fair, points in the bag are exactly that and they are top. We still have to beat Fulham (I think we will) to take full advantage of City's slip up today.

Hopefully a 4-0 win to wipe out the goal difference too. We will create chances galore vs Fulham. I just hope Rooney, Welbeck and co and their shooting accuracy boots on, as one thing we can be accused of this season is profligate in front of goal. I'd like to see a stat which shows attempts directly on goals vs goals scored. I don't think we would compare that well vs other top teams in the PL.

Not really. Factually, the statement is correct. I have no issues with it.

Lets just make sure the headlines are different after we beat Fulham 4-0 on Monday thus also negating the City goal differnce advantage.

The title is far from in the bag. It's very arrogant to suggest that it is when there's still a lot of points up for grabs, and City are only three points behind. I doubt they will, however they could go on a run until the end of the season and end up winning the title. Far from in the bag.

Still, good result for us tonight. Eases the pressure on us a little bit for our game against Fulham, however there will still be a lot of pressure on us to win.

Quite funny that you're suggesting it is arrogant to say the league is in the bag, therefore taking things for granted, whilst also saying City are only 3 points behind, when in fact they are top, on level points, seemingly taking the Fulham game for granted, and classing it as 3 guaranteed points. Stunning.

Oops. Silly mistake of me there. Meant to say that we were level, but that we could go 3 points ahead if we beat Fulham. I'll fix that now.

Nah, leave it. It's already quoted in my post. If we dont beat Fulham on Monday I hope you are ready to face the consequences of stating it's a certain 3 points cheesy

Yep, I've jinxed it now, haven't I?

still a long way to go in the title race, although it is advantage us. We all know how we don't do things the easy way so lets not get too carried away. Take each game as it comes one by one. LUHG
