Gaming The Legend of Zelda | Earthquake: "It's actually ridiculously good, and keeps getting better." ★★★★★

Cool.

How many hours you played so far?

I don't know. Mostly been exploring and cocking about. Trying to find and do shrines now, but I think I ventured into a tougher part than I'm equipped for. Those two strength trials and an island that strips you bare!
Now I've got some aquatic dudes trying to get me to meet some watery princess on a bridge.

Sounds like you're having fun!

 Yeah you'll need more hearts for Eventide Island.

Ok so i have 15 of those orb things.

What's he best thing to level up with those? Hearts or Stamina. I only have 4 hearts at the moment. I've levelled up my stamina twice. Are hearts a necessary thing later in the game and something i should be levelling up now?

Hearts are more of a necessity, while having more stamina makes running and climbing etc easier. Depends how you play the game really.

For now I'd say get a few more hearts, then add a stamina or two, then more hearts etc.

Personally I maxed out stamina before I got any hearts. You can cook plenty of things to give you temporary hearts

I did stamina first. Climbing and swimming is necessary.

I think what i'll do with these orbs is put one in stamina, then the other two in hearts. As long as i ain't messing up, that's all i was worried about. I also seem to be getting one shot killed now and then. Not sure if it's the fact that i have rubbish armour, or that the game is just naturally hard. Im quickly moving around the map so i may be in areas that i shouldn't be in; perhaps my gear is a little underleveled.

Either way, i'm plowing on!

Thanks for the advice.

I've just got to the ancient tech place, and they've upgraded my Sheikah Slate again.

Did an annoying shrine where I had to move the controller, wanted to throw it through the bastard TV

 That seems to be the general consensus.

I didn't mind though, puzzles are supposed to be frustrating at times.

That's true I suppose.

Please tell me there are traditional style dungeons at some point though? I'm guessing it will be when I go to where the divine beasts are?

I cheated on pretty much all of them.
Turned my pad upside down so it was just a flat surface rather than a maze.
Turned it 180 degrees so when i turned it back around the ball would be at the end of the maze and i'd just have to throw it up etc.

Was infinitely easier to find a way of cheating than doing it the legitimate way.

89 shrines down now. I've decided I'm not getting the dlc until I've completed all 120, korok seeds can suck a fat one though.

I've finally defeated Ganon, but still have a lot of shrine, memory pictures and side quests to do. I don't think I'll do most of it though tbh, don't really have a massive urge.

Yeah, I never finished everything. Got all the memories and beat ganon. Always get the urge to go back and do more shrines but I never pick the game up any more.

Similar,
Wii U is just out of the way and the lack of convenience means I dont turn it on that often.

I have gone back once or twice but always ended up just exploring and being unproductive really.

No idea what they're called, bumped into one on Lanayru and one some where else (Lanayru one was red, t'other one was black).

Hate those Guardian things as well.
Ah yeah, sounds like Lynels. They can be a right pain. Once you've got good at dodging they aren't too bad, just take a while.

With regards diamonds, sapphires, rubys etc., is it worth selling them or do they have better uses later on in the game?

Some are used for upgrading armor i think.
Cant remember which. Think Ruby was heat resistant armor, Sapphire was the water armor ... Diamonds were one of the better sets.

Bustled my ankle playing futsal, so finally succumbed to temptation and bought a switch and Zelda. Anyone got any beginners tips to help out? Haven’t started yet but very keen!

Also do people mostly play with it plugged in or hand held? Apologies if this has been answered numerous times already.

I prefer playing it plugged in so you can take in the enormity of it all but have played handheld in bed much to the annoyance of the mrs. Main advice is explore. There's no rails to follow. Also more than one way to skin a cat as they say for everything. Hunt out the mapping towers first then do a fair bit of the area before moving on.

Awesome, exactly what I was looking for. Cheers.

Got myself an extra heart, practiced my dodging and parrying a bit, then defeated the muwo jeem shrine. It was very satisfying to watch it explode as I parried its laser beam straight back at it!

You can parry the laser beams?!

My tactic against those things when they go into cnuty laser mode was to freeze time, hit them as much as possible then sprint around them in a circle so that the laser misses you

Shield surfing?

Yeah but using a seal. So cool.

Nearly done the fourth divine beast now.

I'm assuming when I've done that I retrieve the master sword and go and kill Ganon to finish the game? Even though the game is massive, the main story like itself seems somewhat short?

Anyhoo, plan on doing a lot of the sidequests before I go and do that anyway.
