The IPL 2011

Can they just stop now with 'Preeti's beautiful smileeeeeeee'?

Cringeworthy.

Deccan Chargers have this American coach they're interviewing.

It's hilarious hearing him talk about cricket with such passion!

Did anyone catch that Munaf vs Mishra spat at the end, it was class and Mishra tonked him for four consecutive boundaries after that

I dont get it with you. Such irrational hatred for some of your own players, may it be football or cricket.

Hatred? For what? Sachin? No, I just prefer others to him and as for Slinga, yes I hate him. And he's not "one of our own" players.

Why yes, you do. You completely demean his achievements with generic accusations and for some insane reason, rationalize it with your dislike for him. Remember the newbs, do we?

As for the second part of my statement, I meant sports in general with you. You have an unhealthy obsession with some players and an absurd disregard for some. IIRC, Didnt you say the same about PIG today?

If that's true then you've gone down in my estimations wr8 :nono:

Btw, what the feck are Mumbai Indians playing at? They really need to stop this 'we'll bat like snails and expect Symonds and Pollard to score at 20 an over' strategy.

And I'll be honest, I cannot stand it when Sachin plays like a nudger. It's almost an insult to his talent that when he tries to basically become an 'innovator' trying little nudges and flicks. I want to see him play with the full face and take the bowling on a bit. Hope this isn't a sign of him ageing and of things to come along with that :nervous:

Ah well obviously it's your preference that whether you like Sachin or not wr8, but I can't imagine why would any Indian not like him?

It's bit weird, like United fans not liking Giggsy.

I've always preferred Dravid to Sachin so I tend to get into a lot of Sachin vs Dravid debates with a lot of my pals which has probably led to me "disliking" Sachin. And no I don't hate him. He still plays for India and I support anyone who does. My hatred for MI has to do with Malinga being there.

Absurd disregard? Maybe.

What has happened to MI in the last 4 matches or so? Suddenly they look absolutely incapable of getting 6 RPO.

Anyway I wouldn't read too much into Sachin's performances. It's a scripted tournament. They'll all play well enough for India when they have to.

Talking of playing for India, Sehwag has once again gotten injured playing the IPL

He's actually well within his right not to because he's not a big cricket fan. So it's not the same as a United fan really.

That's a surprise to me considering he was quite regular in the WC thread and also in this IPL thread.

Oh I do watch cricket but I'm not really all that huge a fan. I used to watch a lot of it but over the last few years I don't watch all that much.

The WC well is the WC. You can't not watch that...especially when it's in India! The IPL is just good entertainment :)

What a privilege to watch Gilchrist in full flow today. One of the greatest hitters we've witnessed this century.

Amazing!

Just wait n watch the whole mate Sults, Gayle is gonna berserk today.
The stadium's at a high altitude, that's why they are loads of sixes.

Superb effort by Gilly though!

What an innings. Gilchrist still doing it and he's almost 40. Fantastic player.

I don't think it's going to happen today. He's been hitting nonstop for weeks now. Got to get out early at some point.

yes you are right although I have been thinking the exact thing for last three matches and yet he has kept on thrashing...incredible consistency

that was an incredible over by PK btw

Bloody useless RCB. 33-1 in 6.3 overs. How the HELL do you let them score 233 after that

KKR are going to bottle it. They won't make the top 4 now.

Bloody hell that's 200 runs in 13.3 overs

How does this affect KKR, wr8?

Well KKR were on 14 points and Kings on 12. Now with Kings winning today they'll come to 14 as well (having played a game extra btw). The only plus point for KKR was that their NRR was around +0.403 and Kings were on -0.18 or something. However with Kings winning by some 10000 runs today the NRR is going to be boosted :(

KKR needs to win atleast one of their next 2 games now including MI at Eden :nervous:

If MI and KKR both lose their next match(against Royals and Pune, not inconceivable) then the final match MI vs KKR will be a knockout assuming Punjab beat Deccan.

Hope MI goes out. Too many MI fans here in Chennai. I like people who support their local teams.

and yea, Karan.. great over from PK. If he was 10ks faster, he could've been a great bowler.

MI losing at home to RR? That's not going to happen imo. And I can easily see KKR losing to both Pune and MI and dropping out of the top 4 :(

Home and away doesn't really come into T20s, particularly the IPL..

Sure it doesn't but RR are a bit shit and MI are generally strong at home despite the odd loss to DC and Kochi.

What on earth are MI playing at? Almost a must win match and they're doing their best to screw up.

They're batting over the last 4 games or so has been embarrassing.

PS: They might just improve and score 200 now but 24-2 in 6 overs?

Don't watch the IPL much...but did anyone else notice Sunil Gavaskar wipe the sweat off his sons face on live tv?

He did it 2-3 times, to the point, where Rohan looked genuinely upset, and completely lost his train of thought....hahaha

Take it easy, it's test cricket maan!

lol.. which match was this?

RAJASTHAN won by 10 wickets..against MI...at Wankhede

Watching Slinga get hammered all over the pitch was pure joy

They asked the Dalai Lama if he knows who Sachin was and he said he doesn't. What the feck is he doing at a cricket match?

Hat trick for Mishra vs Punjab. Gilchrist just threw this game away. Putting in Deccan to bat first on a pitch where the first innings average is 201 runs is the most stupid thing I might have seen in my life.

I absolutely HATE Balaji. Looks shit and can't bowl for shit.

Gives away 21 god dam runs off the final over to lose KKR the match and a top 2 spot. He's so dam SHIT.

He's Chennai through and through. Second place for Chennai. KKR out of the T20 CL.

I can't believe how much I hate this guy. Unbelievably PATHETIC from him. How many full tosses in that over? 4? No wonder he's not in the Indian team. Shocking shocking player. And Gambhir is a terrible captain. The number of times he makes horrendous decisions is not even funny. He's going to cost us in West Indies.

The amount of times he's made very poor decisions for KKR is not even funny.

I still can't believe he gave Balaji the final over considering just how badly he was bowling today. 30 runs in 2 overs before that and massively struggling with line and length.
