After the World Cup, would be a bit of a struggle to get audiences for this possibly in India but i think many people will tune in on tv.

Anyway, it kicks off tomorrow with Chennai Super Kings v Kolkota at 3:30 BST

I dislike t20 cricket general but with me staying at home these days it wont be the worse thing to have on in the background.

Problem with the ipl is that its basically a bunch of glorified friendlies. Doesn't really matter what you do in it. The players play it either to have a bit of fun, prolong their careers or to earn big bucks. Noone dreams of winning the ipl. So yeah its basically non.competitive cricket that I will use to pass time if anything.

I would like to see kkr suffer once again.

Bloody scripted rubbish. How could KKR throw that game away

If it's any consolation it's more your owner than anything else.

I have watched a bit of IPL and cant help but think it is fixed.

I'd be amazed if it wasn't fixed. It's filthy rich and most probably fixed.

I know KKR are rubbish but the way they threw the game away today was extraordinary.

Shouldn't you be supporting mumbai Indians ? You shouldn't because the ipl is more about money than cricket but if you are then why kkr ?

Well I don't much care for MI. Initially liked KKR becaue of SRK actually which I know is a bit pathetic :p

But to be completely honest I don't much care about IPL. I barely watch 10-15 of the matches so don't properly support any team. And well KKR are perennial underdogs.

ACn we get these games in the UK? If so, what channel? If not, can somebody suggest some appropriate streams? Likewise, would be good if the OP can post a full fixture list in the OP itself.

I missed todays game as I never knew was on and also a bit in crickets overload after such an excellent and enthralling world cup as well as the United getting up and running again after a prolonged international break.

I'd imagine though that the whole IPL will just be one long celebration of all the players from Team India being feted up and down the country ... and given the confidence such a win will give players, can expect some explosive performances from the likes of Tendulkar, Sehwag, Ghambir, Dhoni, Khan and the rest, esp when they play against one another. What are 'the glamour sides this year and which are the 'big boy' ties?

Cricketers are such obviously inept and inferior sportsmen that anything can look fixed.

I am finding it to hard to motivate myself to watch the IPL. On a scale of 1 to 10 how entertaining is this tournament?

I do not think IPL will generate too much hype this season, people are saturated with cricket now. People will watch when there is nothing else on and go to stadiums to see star players.

And also coming to the players. Very few foreign players play to their maximum, most are there to enjoy the pay packet and do not want to risk getting injured or drained out. Even with Indian stars, only ultra competitive players like Dhoni and Sachin seem to take it very seriously. It is best opportunity for unknown players to make their name though.

Depends if you have a team to support.

It's good when there's nothing to do at home, but you grow sick of it very fast.

Ishaant Sharma looked brilliant in the first 3 overs of his that I saw today.

Would be great if he could get back on the road to fulfilling his potential. Can bowl 140+ kmph consistently, gets extreme bounce due to his height and gets movement as well. Would improve us so much if he could back to his best.

VVS Laxman hitting sixes

Everyone should watch Dravid's innings right now, it has been wonderful so far.

Even though I hate IPL, but it sometimes a pleasure to see the technical players(Jayawardenes, Laxmans, Dravids etc) turn up and play some wonderful knocks and score some quick runs.

This ex VJ Udi who does little interviews for Set Max is a real clown.

He asks the most rubbish questions I think I've ever heard.

He asks Davy Jacobs after todays game,

"So are you looking to take this form into the next game or er, space it out?"

What the fack does that even mean? Is he implying that Jacobs play poorly for a few innings to space his good innings out?

Sachin's become absolutely ruthless, hasn't he? I realized it only when watching from a neutral point of view today. Run machine.

He has got an average of 42 in T20, that's kind of incredible really!

Sachin, Dhawan, Kohli, Rayudu, Pandey, Uthappa, Irfan, Mishra, RP Singh, Ishant, Dinda

India could probably put out 2 teams in this format. Probably one more.

Ishant is bowling at 150km plus, this pleases me.

I just logged on to post this. He just hit 149 and 150 and is consistently well over 145.

Please don't become a medium fast bowlers after this ishaant.

The speed gun's a farce. It showed Yusuf Pathan bowling at 140 the other day. Ishant's been bowling well today, though.

And you seem to be watching a lot of IPL..

Don't think so in this. He's doing it game after game.

Yeah I'm home a lot these days studying so I often keep it on in the background and the foreground if I'm interested.

Sachin just played the helicopter shot, he looked classy even playing that type of shot.
