Great episode. How have PETA not objected to Clarkson's car yet! They have a problem with everything

The stunt has horrified animal rights group PETA.

Angry spokeswoman Mimi Bekhechi said Clarkson’s bizarre skin-and-bones vehicle had turned him into “a Lady Gaga wannabe with a meat car”.

She added: “While this pompous arse is always desperately vying for attention by trying to offend others, less privileged beings raised for their skin and flesh are suffering in barren industrial sheds."

“PETA and every kind human being hopes that one day Clarkson will put the brakes on cheap and mean stunts such as this one and become a true motorhead, not a meathead.”

The outrage is the latest in a spate of controversies sparked by Mr Clarkson’s behaviour on the Amazon Prime show.

In last week’s episode, viewers were shocked as the presenter appeared to force a Romanian man into pedalling a “driverless” car.

I get that animal rights activists get upset when animals are treated like crap, I mean who doesn't? But what exactly is wrong with using the bones and skin of an already dead animal to do what he did here?

PETA are a bunch of hypocritical bellends anyway. Nothing to see here, move along.

Also, the more I think about it, the less I'm able to accept May actually going for mud and mud-related products for the bodywork of his car. Anyone's first impression upon seeing that car is that it's the stupidest idea ever, and someone clever and practical like May would never actually try something like it. The whole starting off with a horrendously bad idea and then going all out by digging up the countryside and burning coal and basically being an environmental disaster gag would have been much more in line with the character if it had been done by Clarkson instead.

Yeah, it did feel like they messed up who got what car. May should have had the garden. I imagine Clarkson insisted on having the bone car and that Hammond didn't want the mud car because that would make him the fool in two consecutive episodes.

Really liked that. They're getting back to form. My favourite segment is still Conversation Street for some weird reason. I just enjoy hearing them trade lines between each other. Huge plus that The American didn't make an appearance.

Since the second episode it's gotten more and more car-oriented, less scripted and more like the old Top Gear with them travelling the world and driving around. Here's hoping they keep on this track and it just keeps getting better.

The bits in the tent still need to be less scripted. They're naturally funny together due to their chemistry, Amazon would be better giving them four topics to discuss and letting the trio decide what to say and when to naturally transition to the next topic.

Once the tent sections are sorted, celebrity brain crash is killed and the American is gone it'll be a good show.

I still can't help but feel a tinge of disappointment when I watch it and realise that we'll never get what I hoped TGT would be.

As a magazine car-show its fine, its not as good as Top Gear was at its best, but its better than before it finished on the Beeb; its just disappointing that they weren't brave enough to change the formula up.

I have just watched some of the old TG Specials, Botswana and USA, both excellent, not up to that standard but not far off.
The USA one where they paint slogans on the cars and nearly got lynched was brilliant.

Loved the car battleship part. I hope they continue with 1 such stupid segment every episode

Another fine episode. I'm quite satisfied with the series so far.

Also, seems that Hammond picks the best cars -- well, save for Clarkson's beauty in third episode, Aston Martin.

Car battle-ships was awesome. I even liked the create your own environment friendly car and how good was it seeing Clarkson with that white blazer acting like Bond.. that cracked me up.

Not yet perfect, far from it but its getting better.

Brilliant, I love their special episodes looking forward to that Namibia one already.

Call me old fashioned, but I preferred their Whitby-hosted episodes, the South Africa and US episodes were as dull as dishwater. It just didn't seem to fit when they were there, whether it was the audience, or because they needed to have topical material (eg. Jacob zuma's mental arythmatic - when you have to explain the joke, it's a shit joke) Not seen the latest one though, so I could be talking out of my arse, which wouldn't be the first time.

That was a good episode. Ford Mustang v Focus. Ford v Ferrari at Le Mans. If only they can only actually test both those cars and talk more about the cars, that would have been better.

That was a fun episode.

I think of Top Gear/TGT as 'event television'. It's the kind of show I watch mostly because everyone else I know watches it, meaning it's an event we can all talk about. Most episodes are a bit shit, but fine to have on in the background for the cinematography if nothing else. Episode 6 of TGT was really engaging, though, I thought.

Maybe it's all this Christmas spirit in me.

Its just Top Gear in 4k. Ive enjoyed it so far but annoyed that there doesnt seem to be any feature length specials in the series
There's one next week - part one next Friday, with part two out the next day.

I'm not enjoying it too much. Turns out the BBC were somewhat keeping them in check with their 'PCness' and they actually are wankers. The obligations of guests and being given things to talk about etc at least gave the show some direction compared to the 'hmm what can we do when we aren't showing films, lets's just stand around and have some bloody great awkward banter'.

I reckon they should stick to the specials, those are great, and I bet/hope that is still the case. Churn out two or three of those a year and it'd be much better instead of this awkward crap.

Part one was pretty good. Part two is out tomorrow too.

Enjoyed part 1 alot considering they spent near enough the entire episode just driving through an empty desert.

I reckon part 2 will be even better tomorrow judging by the little preview at the end of the episode.
