I just re-watched the old Top Gear Space shuttle segment they did with the Reliant Robin. Considering the budget they have for this new show they should be doing more things like that.

Yeah, me too. Seems very contrived, but not too dissimilar to the recent seasons of TG.It's so fake, so forced, so scripted.
They're not being Clarkson, Hammond and May, they're all playing characters.
Genuinely disappointed so far.
Finding it absolutely hilarious that it's getting panned. They were elevated to some weird cult level by the LadBible style media that they were never going to be able to justify.
Their format of Top Gear was tired and I'm convinced Clarkson was intentionally pushed out by the BBC to usher something new in. The way it happened turned it into something ridiculous and they benefitted hugely from it but I really do think it'll be a huge shock if it gets a third season.
You love making up conspiracy theories to explain away things you want to be true!
He punched a bloke. He didn't need to be 'deliberately pushed out'. It was as plain as it seemed.I guess you're not aware of Cohen trying to get rid of him before for his racial slurs?

bit late for that isn't it? been filmed already...Conversation Street was the best bit of the third episode, which I quite liked to be fair. Throwing money at the production of it all isn't going to make it good. They're at their best when the banter between them and the cars are in focus. The Italy segment had the potential to be great until Hammond showed up with his ridiculous muscle car and two trucks, and all the parts where he wasn't involved or was just a faint roar in the background worked very well.
I get that Amazon wants a bit more 'Murica in the show to get as many American viewers as possible considering the size of that market, but absolutely all of it has been shit and they should stop.
Finally got around to watching ep1 and managed 20 minutes. Might revisit it but was far too scripted for me, lost the edge they had in TG by trying too hard to not be TG, whilst secretly trying to be TG.
Does that make sense?

I agree, Harris and Reed were excellent. They properly reviewed cars. The new Top Gear was doomed by how shit a host Evans was and how crap him and MLB were in the studio together, as well as showing their worst segments in the first two episodes for some utterly bizarre reason. A lot of the actual car stuff, especially with Reed and Harris, was really good.I maybe in the minority, but I think the latest Top Gear Segments (Those done by Chris Reed and the other fella) were better than TGT. Everything seems forced in TGT and there really needs to be Top Gear style segments/competitions for it to be entertaining.
All three episodes were pretty good. Army part was a bit too long maybe.
Anyway, I think I'm in love with that Aston Martin. That "brown" one. Jesus, how beautiful that is....
Its not brown. Its sunset orange.![]()
It's the brown looking one. What exact colour is sunset orange? I just googled it and it gives me various shades of orange, how do I even know which is the right one!
I stopped watching it after the first episode. I know they are getting used to their knew surroundings but it's not like they haven't done a car show before. Everything apart from the hyper cars felt so forced in that episode that I just didn't want to watch anymore episodes if it was going to be like that.
Hopefully they can go back to being more of a car show with entertainment added in rather than entertainment being their number one priority because when it is forced I just don't find it funny.
This post could have applied to Top Gear when they still did that.
It's basically the same show with same scripted segments. They started focusing less on cars and more on the characters of Jeremy, James and Richard years a go. Not sure why you would expect that to change.
