The Fourth RedCafe Sheep Draft

@Raees has had a brutal hand here. 5/6 out of his picks fairly sensible and pragmatic, yet he's lumbered with two sheep while half the managers load up on superstars.

Knew I'd overpaid for Carlos but to fit the theme I'm going for he's perfect.

Now to look at world cup appearances and see if it's screwed my plans

His fault for cheaping out on Mara-fecking-dona. I would always bid the full hog when going for GOATs.

Edit: would not have helped him with sheeps but atleast blocked the argie

I've got it down as 25 possible players. Lots and lots of sheep incoming.

Surprised he took the risk of taking Verratti for his last pick while he knows all my posts about PSG on the forum.

Could have had Facchetti for 3m. I feel cheated.

Seriously, though, looking at the other amounts people bid, I'd say he was a decent purchase.

Indeed.

I overpaid by 40M! :)

But at least I get to build team around my favorite footballer of all time! Focusing on Corinthians this time too not Bra82

R2P1:

P-Nut - PASS - Roberto Carlos (31m) -

Enigma - FAIL - Roberto Carlos (16m)

harms - PASS - Rijkaard (25m)
Interesting fact: @P-Nut0712 originally planned to bid 40M for Rijkaard but was unsure so he asked to use Cheat.

For some reason he then decided to switch to Bobby C, meaning @harms landed Rijkaard for 25M and @Enigma_87 missed out on Carlos.

That initial Skizzo/Annah bid deserves some attention, I feel: What was the thinking? If someone else bids (and obviously that's what you assume - otherwise you don't enter a bid in the first place) they either bid the absolute minimum amount too, in which case the player gets blocked, or they outbid you.

23 m for Fachetti is excellent business

The Doc was one of the first I thought of here - but remembering your love for him from the SA draft, I considered it very likely that you would go for him. He went to the right manager, though - that's clear.

Surprised noone went for the tall dutchman or the short englishman. Or the tall frenchman, for that matter.

Edit: There was a massive pool and a lot of other great players weren't even considered.

Blame Gio then, his tight fist had the better of him too, then belatedly had a change of heart and tried bid the house on Diego.

Too late.

True. Knew that he'd be in your sights and it was obvious that Pnut would go Bobby.

You'll be even more annoyed that I only figured out the budget concept at one minute past the P1 deadline.

Same in R1 - the only reason I went for France was as a blocking measure, assuming that the very small number of countries with players even better than Platini would receive the same treatment. But nah every man for himself here.

Thought there was a possibility of Rijkaard being maxed out. He's a player a team can be built around and with 2 bids on him already I worried about blocking him and throwing 40m away.

Carlos whilst excellent isn't really a focal point of a squad so felt I'd be able to pick him up if I bid big.

I didn't even know I was going for Bobby until I saw what had happened with my cheat card.

I was gunna go for the French lad but after my last draft I couldn't be bothered having a similar argument throughout.

Feck it. This rounds gunna be a massacre so may aswell just submit one now.

Pick done.

Was quite surprised too see that my bid was successful to be honest.

Yeah, this one will be carnage, so might as well just jump in.

Sent. With zero expectations. See you tomorrow at 11AM.

That was exactly why I went for France! Originally, I had another country in mind, but my thought process was like, "Nah, I can't let anyone go for that GOAT!"

Cheers! I submitted my bid about 5-10 minutes after reading the criteria without even thinking about the pool let alone researching. But I've learned its more fun to lose with a team you love than draft a team with great players but ones you love less :)

If you're going to bid, do so when you pick. Won't accept belated bids.

Of the 25 eligible a couple have been picked or blocked as well

To be honest I intended to bid 16 for a full back - Vogts or Carlos or 30m on Rijkaard. Then I thought that someone would go ball out on Rijkaard and Joga will pick Vogts hence moving on to Carlos. He's an excellent fit but for 31m I wouldn't bid that high :)

Sheep nomination- Lacina Traore

@The Stain @antohan

For the next round there would be 0 sheep eligible for the rule. How are sheep being determined ?

We should probably just wrap the draft up. Cal has Zlatan, so what's the point? Winner.

Managers must inform they will be using the CHEAT card one hour before the deadline and be ready to submit their pick no more than 10 minutes after the picks are revealed.

Are there any neutrals out there who'd be willing to help me out with this card as I most likely won't be around during this time-frame. PM me please, thank you.

lol don't worry about it mate.

@Gio I'm going to have to bow out soon out of sheer embarrassment
