The FM10 Player Experiment (I won't abandon this one, I totally promise)

Excellent update, well done.
Oh and a move from Chandini FC to Mohun Bagan is definitely a step up as Mohun Bagan is one of the bigger clubs in India

My players stats actually seem to have got worse. I knew the step up from schoolyard football to Bowers and Pitsea at such a young age would hamper my development, but damnit my head was turned by that lucrative £5 a week deal. I became hypnotized by the money and the glamour, and have lost track of what the football is all about :(

And how the fudge has UBER got picked up by United already? He's a Welsh-Canadian, the worst possible mix of genes known to man. I suspect some seedy, back alley soiled-mattress negotiations going on here.

I'm Welsh - German actually, which I suppose is actually more shameful but in this game I'm Argentinian - German. That's a pretty devastating combo in the football world. I'm like Matthäus + Redondo or something

41 Goals and 13 Assists in 99 Games....not bad at all.

Like the way im coming on as well, my finishing and everything seems to be on the up and up.

18 influence is surely going to earn me a captain spot at some point in my career :)

Ive already got a full cap for Kenya bitches. That makes me some kind of politician over there I think.

281 fouls in 108 league games so far. 20 yellow cards and 10 red cards. Though he got 4 yellow and 8 (!) red cards in the league one season
Dives into tackles + Tackling 1 + Controversy 20 + Sportsmanship 1 + Temperament 1 + Dirtiness 20 + Aggression 20

I have 2 goals in 3 appearances for Saint Lucia, which makes me a God.

Great update there, well done.

Great strike rate so far for me. Still at the same club though, come on Wigan, put in a bid already!

Nice update.

Hmm, need to get a few more stats of mine in the green really. Hopefully passing and composure go up. Should develop into a top CM with the pace he has too.

Great update mate.

Hmmm, wonder how my guy ended up not signing for Roma when a bid was accepted. Quite odd.

Haych Ess Jay - HsJ

Haych Ess Jay is another who has yet to move from his starting club, though he has made himself an integral part of his Winsford team, being chosen captain at a young age. He too has played 99 league games. In that time he has scored 8 goals and provided a further 21 assists, with an average rating of 7.47. His contract is about to expire, but as of yet only three teams are taking much notice: Morton, Thurrock and Dartford.

Haven't even heard of 2 of those teams

Think I'll be a part time builder too. Can I choose these attributes as well?

Weeeeeeee..

I made a bloke on my game to see what would happen to, I said he loved all the big clubs, but hated the managers. I should be a sitcom writer.

Actually added all the players on the first page into a database out of complete boredom last night. 6 years in and my guy didn't move on from his crappy team despite having 17 goals in 15 youth appearances. Hope it turns out better in this one..

What happened to Klaus von Uberreich?

Maybe after niMic is done with this experiment, we can compare how they turned out (if niMic is agreeable of course). But as for now, I don't want to hijack this experiment.

Cheers nyrfan, appreciate it :)

It's not like I can stop you telling someone a bit about how their guy turned out over PM's, or anywhere else. Just so long as you don't do it in the thread or start writing up stuff

It's a tough task being spotted in a non-league side in Armenia

I'm not having hopes

I knew I'd be an injury prone player.

Glad I never put all my eggs in the footballing basket.

Would be interesting to see how differently they end up at the end of their careers, with perhaps one making it to United in one game, but stuck in the lower leagues in anotehr

That's a great idea. To have niMic's as our actual game, but also another chance to see what could've been when it's all over. So long as you keep it under wraps until the end of course!

Anthony van der Shark – SharkyMcShark

Despite an increasing degree of dominance in the Australian lower leagues, Anthony van der Shark had still not found an adequate reason to leave Kingston City. In both of the previous seasons he had played 33 games and scored 19 goals, with 5 and 6 assists respectively. Perhaps his progress was being hindered by the low quality of the club and opposition, but he was still progression well as a footballer. Internationally, he again helped his Australian team win the Asian U19 Championships, this time over UAE in the finals.

Arturo Scavelli - Solius

Having spent the first three seasons at Castelsardo, Arturo Scavelli decided it was time to go for bigger and better things, and in the January window of 2013 he moved to serie A side Vicenza in a £100k deal. He didn’t play much in the last half of that season, but as his club was relegated to the second highest level for the next season, he saw more action, playing 20 games, scoring once and providing three assists. Not quite at the top level, but much higher prospects than at his previous club. He also became quite fond of Vicenza manager Alfredo Sebastiani, who was sacked shortly after.

Bob Loblaw - Ivor Ballokov

At the end of the last season Bob Loblaw was being monitored by a few decent sides. In the end he ended up in a much bigger club than any of those as 5th placed Premier League side snapped him up for a pittance of £14k. He was loaned out to CCC-side Wolves for most of that season, playing 8 very impressive games there, before getting back to Villa just in time to sit on the bench as his side lost 1-3 to Manchester United in the Europa League Final. The next season he played a 18 league games for Aston Villa, though the 12th finish was disappointing for the club as a whole. He also made his first appearance for Northern Ireland, adding another three later, as well as taking a liking to NI-manager Nigel Worthington.

Das Wálross - Walrus

The new season started oddly for Das Wálross, as he was released from Thatcham. Perhaps they didn’t think there was any point in trying to hold on to it, because it certainly wasn’t because of a lack of potential. Aston Villa, who had already signed Bob Loblaw, snapped him up in January 2013. He only played one league game that season, but added another 16 next season, though his overall level of play wasn’t particularly good. He was progressing very well as a footballer, so the future looked bright nonetheless.

Dominik Geiger - nyrfan818

Though a move to Roma had somehow eluded him earlier, he wasn’t to stay for very long at YF Juventus. He played another full season there, playing somewhat worse than the previous season, and then was promptly snapped up by Ligue 1 side RC Lens for £250k. Considering his previous level of competition he hadn’t yet turned into a great striker, but his potential was there for all to see. He played mostly for the youth sides, but got a chance in one league game, scoring a goal and adding an assists in his Lens debut. His only ”favoured personnel” was Michael Laudrup, who had earlier tried to lure him to Roma.
Weeks injured: 12 (13 total)

Ed Weatherall - Ed Weatherall

Though some players went to more prestigous clubs than had monitored him, it was the other way around for Ed Weatherall. His contract went out and he was quickly signed by League 2 side Dag & Red. The silver lining to his somewhat lesser club was that he was quickly given a spot on the first team, something that would surely better his progress. In the two first seasons he played a total of 40 league gaes, scoring 6 goals and providing 15 assists. At the end of the season he was again monitored, this time by Charlton and Sheffield Wednesday.
Weeks injured: 9 (20 total)

Emile Messi - x42bn6

Emile Messi was having a good season for Woodley Sports, when he got an offer he couldn’t refuse from Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg in January, and joined for £65k, more than half the entire worth of his previous club. There he proceeded to play the two best seasons of his life, despite the vast increase in the level of competition. In two seasons he played 24 games, scoring 6 goals and providing 9 assists, for an average rating of 7.3. Playing all over the field, he also became the St. Lucia captain, where he he continued to feature.

Erik Sørheim - Eriku

Having swapped clubs once already, Erik Sørheim decided to do it again after another season at Strømmen, where he became the Supporters Player of the Year for 2012. In 2013 Bryne came calling, and he joined in a deal worth £300k, a handsome sum for a Norwegian First Division team. There he continued scoring goals, putting 12 times in 19 games, with 6 assists. He was yet to make his first cap, though his rise in the ranks of Norwegian football meant he was destined to do it eventually.

2012-2014 (2)

Fat Ronaldo - AlwynP

Fat Ronaldo started the new season at Erith & Belvedere, but he would only stay there for half a season longer. He played well, and was picked up by CCC-side Nottingham Forest on a free transfer. There he finished the season poorly, though the change in levels of competition can be blamed for that. The next season Nottingham Forest found themselves in League 1, and Fat Ronaldo really excelled. In 15 league games he scored 12 times. He played so well that exactly one year after his last transfer, he was off again. This time to Scottish Premier League side Motherwell, who paid a heathy £2.1 million. He finished well there, scoring 5 goals in 8 games.

Frank Vulgar - FranklyVulgar

Having moved from his original club to Irish Galway United very early, Frank Vulgar still hadn’t found a reason to move on. He continued to play well for his club, with his best season seeing him having 14 assists and 2 goals in 23 games, with an incredible 12 Man of the Match awards. He still had a year left on his contract, so perhaps he had decided to see out his contract and then move to greener pastures. He didn’t make any more U21 games these two years, though he did find a particular liking for Roy Hodgson.
Weeks injured: 29 (73 total)

Hassan Emirati - uae

Despite Stoke going up a divison, from CCC to the PL, he was instantly made a first team regular. He played in 27 games in 12/13, scoring a decent 8 goals. His club was then relegated again, which saw him up his level of performance again. This time he played a full 38 league games, scoring 23 goals with 5 assists and an average rating of 7.26. With 23 goals he finished runner up in the Championship Topscorer race. He was heavily involved in helping Stoke gain promotion straight back up again, first with a goal in the 4-3 aggregate win over Southamption in the Playoffs, and then both goals in the 2-1 Playoff final win over Sheffield United. For his efforts he was named in the CCC Players’ Select team.
Weeks injured: 2 (19 total)

Haych Ess Jay - HsJ

While three fairly low prestige clubs were interested in him before the summer, the result wasn’t quite so bad as he found himself picked up by CCC-side Derby County for free. There he became an instant first team player, providing 11 goals and 3 assists in 44 league games. That must have impressed Scottish Premier League side Hearts, as they were willing to pay a full £3.2 million for the youngster. There he continued playing regularly, almost always on one of the wings. In 29 games he managed 8 goals and 6 assists for an average rating of 7.32. He was yet to make an appearance for either national side, though he publically admitted he would rather wait to see if he could get a chance with Brazil.

Jacob - Jacob

Though Jacob stayed at Impuls Dilijan for another season and a half, keeping up his by now normal high standard of play, he finally caught the eye of foreign scouts. French Ligue 1 side Nancy offered Impuls £110k for Jacob, an offer they couldn’t refuse, and neither could he. He is yet to make an aperance for the Nancy first team, but it is to be expected that his growth was stunted a bit by the low level of competition he had earlier. Spanish midfielder Gabi was quickly named as his tutor at the club, a move Jacob was delighted by.

Jon Muller - muller

Jon Muller had finally decided it was time to move away from Bristol Manor Farm, accepting an offer from much more exotic Bristol City. He was quickly loaned out from the Premiership club to CCC-club Pompey, where he only made a handful of appearances. As Bristol City were relegated that season, he decided it was time to move on again. In august 2013 he joined CCC-side Leeds United, publically declaring how pleased he was at being at a successfull club. There he played 45 games, scored and provided 12 each, and had a great rating of 7.72. He was also chosen CCC Young Player of the Month for August, February, March and April.
Weeks injured: 0 (0 total)

Karan Mittal - Karan Mittal

Karan Mittal had another good season and a half at Mohun Bagan before deciding it was time to seek his fortunes abroad. In January 2014 he was signed by Nancy, joining Jacob, and showing that Nancy had the right kind of scouts in some rather obscure leagues. Unlike Jacob he was quickly given a spot in the squad, though perhaps not so much in the first team. Still, he managed 10 league games for Nancy that half season, scoring once and assisting someone else twice, for a very good average rating of 7.53. His progress also spurred the India manager into finally selecting him for international duty, and by the end of the season he had 4 caps with 2 goals.

Klaus von Überreich - UBERScholes

Though he was only a season away from an already agreed United move, Klaus von Überreich didn’t hold back. In 33 league games for Central he scored and assisted 14 each for a magnificent average rating of 7.79. He played for the Argentinian U20 side in the South-American U20 Championships, scoring goals against Chile, Venezuela and Brazil has his side won. August 15th 2013 his move to Manchester United was finallised. The wonderkid didn’t make an instant impact, though he played in 3 league games and 7 cup games that season.

2012-2014 (3)

Markus "Stobzilla" Elstob - Stobzilla

Though he had been too good for the level for a while, Markus Elstob decided to take another season at Andover, again proving himself ready for bigger things. So when CCC-side Sheffield Wednesday came in with an £85k bid, Elstob was determined to make the move. He did, and played 24 league games for the club that season, scoring 7 goals. He’s still a very young striker at 19, but the media have already dubbed him ”the new Alan Shearer”. With Sheffield Wednesday finishing 22nd for relegation, it remains to be seen if he wants to stay or not.
Weeks injured: 11 (11 total)

Neil Duck - cold-zebra

It was an eventful two years for defender Neil Duck. Having spent the past two seasons at Cork City, he decided it was time to further his career further, and when Stoke City came in with a contract offer, Duck was quick to pounce on it. He also finally started for the Irish national side, gaining a newfound respect for manager David O’Leary for picking him. He decided to stay at Stoke even though they got relegated to the CCC, but when portugese giants Porto put in a £3 million bid for him in January, he didn’t hesitate to accept it. He played 19 league games the rest of the season, scoring twice, with an average rating of 6.97.
Weeks injured: 10 (21 total)

Nigel Tufnel - GDH

My prediction was that Nigel Tufnel wouldn’t stay at Brymbo for much longer, and he proved me right. During the summer window he was quickly snapped up by La Liga side Valladolid. There the striker played 15 league games, though his overall level of play was far from good enough, and he only scored one goal. During the summer of 2013 he then joined Fiorentina. He only played 7 games, and only scored one goal, but he was still part of a Fiorentina side that impressed by finishing 3rd in the Serie A. He also made his Welsh national team debut, scoring a goal in 6 games so far. His goal record is far from great, but he is still young, and the media are already speculating that he could be the next John Charles.
Weeks injured: 0 (0 total)

Nimicinho - niMic

Nimichino continued to impress at Tønsberg, and by the end of the season (Norwegian seasons go by the year) he had scored 36 goals in a total of 47 league games for the club. At that point he changed clubs for the second time, joining Løv-Ham on a free transfer. There he scored 19 goals in 9 league matches, making such an impression that he only got half a season before Dutch giants Ajax had put in a £325k bid, an offer a small Norwegian club was in no place to refuse. He only got two league matches that season for his new club, though he scored in both. He made his Norway debut, though is yet to score. He quickly became fond of National team coach Kjetil Rekdal, and his tutor at Ajax, Luis Suárez.
Weeks injured: 3 (3 total)

Paz - Paz

Paz was one of very few players who was still at his starting club at the end of the last two seasons. He put in another couple of 33-match seasons, having now played a total of 165 league games for Boldmere in the Midland Football Alliance. He was dominating, though in truth he had been from the very first season, raising questions of why he wasn’t moving on. He didn’t want to decide quite yet on with national team to play for, England or Spain, as he felt he had time. He had also aquired Gary Johnson as favoured personnel, for some obscure reason which probably involves some praising.
Weeks injured: 1 (2 total)

Sebastien Cassel - Erics collar

Another one who stayed at his original club, FC Les Lilas, for all the seasons so far, Sebastien Cassel was also ripping up the French CFA2. He had now made a total of 148 league appearances for the club, scoring 37 times and providing 40 assists. There’s no doubt that the low level of competition stunted his growth, though, so perhaps he was happy to see a big host of clubs monitoring him, mostly decently sized French and Dutch clubs. Also Cassel wanted to wait before committing himself to either France or Argentina.
Weeks injured: 0 (1 total)

Smashed Hombre - SmashedHombre

Though some fair-sized clubs had been watching him, Swashed Hombre didn’t end up in any of those. Instead he accepted an offer from Semi-Professional Tonbridge Angels. There the speedy winger did well, scoring 10 times and assisting another 5 in 20 league games, with a good average rating of 7.24. He decided not to stick around as long as he had at Bowers & Pitsea, though, and the very next season was off to CCC-side Preston North End. He didn’t play particularly well in the 16 league games he got that season, though that’s not surprising considering the big leap in levels of competition he saw.
Weeks injured: 19 (19 total)

Tor Lawless - FlawlessThaw

Though it must have been hard leaving his £5 p/w contract at Altrincham, a chance to play for Premiership side Burnley could not be passed up. The £3,300 p/w contract, 660 times as much as his old, probably didn’t hurt either. At Burnley he made 8 league appearances the first season, adding another 23 the next season. Neither of the seasons were very good for Lawless, but the second one was a marked improvement on the first, suggesting he was beginning to get used to Premiership football. He was yet to make an appearance for the English national side, though he now had played 6 times for the U21s.
