The FM10 Player Experiment (I won't abandon this one, I totally promise)

Messi's physical stats  and technical stats

You got it running now then niMic? I know you won't be doing big updates til the players are older but will you be saying who moves to what clubs in their early years? In my experience doing this with mates the players often have the most transfer activity in their youth before settling at a club for a while.

 Messi

Was hoping the height limit would be a little more freakish than 210cm though

I'll have a small two-year update, where you'll see if your players have progressed and their swaps in clubs, etc.

Rafa just got fired.

They hired Guardiola :nervous:

It was a tycoon takover :nervous:

Good thing most of the most promising youngsters for a generation have United on favoured and Liverpool on disliked

Does he have high professionalism? I can't quite remember. He better, considering he has 1 determination
Ambition 20 and Professionalism 20. Which means he'll reach CA 200 quite easily but won't want to play for any of the big teams (maybe in France or Germany, forgot to add those to disliked teams).

Determination only affects how they react to conceding a goal.

Unless someone tutors him to perhaps increase things like Loyalty and Temperament, which are pathetic as it stands.

In FMLive it affects a whole range of things, including, apparently, if they will reach their top speed, and whether or not they will win headers.

I'm pretty sure it's the same in Football Manager.

Nah it's not, not in Football Manager 2010. Determination is only to do with the match-engine and that's how it's researched.

Why would it have a completely different effect in Football Manager Live and Football Manager 2010, considering how much they are "co-made"? I find that very hard to believe.

Besides, how do you know what it means to the researchers? From what I can tell, the researchers themselves aren't quite sure exactly what determination influences.

The speed of a player is directly influenced by pace (top speed), acceleration (rate of change of speed), agility (rate of change of direction) and stamina (ability to maintain high speed). It's also indirectly influenced by anticipation (off the mark speed), balance , strength and determination - without these a player can be stopped from fulfilling their top speed. The point is, you can't just look at pace to determine how fast a player is around the park.

In terms of winning headers, jumping, heading, strength, determination, positioning and balance all come into the equation.

In other words, not simply their reaction to going down in a game.

I haven't put Liverpool down as a disliked team either :nervous:

The silver lining, and all that..

From now on, I'll just post pictures like these whenever, between updates.

Ah man, any chance you can use the upload site you used for the player pics? My uni have imageshack blocked for some unbeknown reason

Will a last minute (well, nearly) winner by Anderson cheer you up?

Sure, I'll do that from now on.

Any big transfers yet niMic?

Not for any of us. It's looking like I'll do a three-year update, and even then most of us are still in the original clubs. Some have moved on a bit, while one seems to have made the big one (or will soon). I think putting us with no reputation and in terrible clubs means we won't all be at United or Barcelona by 19, which is a good thing in my book. Don't worry, I suspect we'll end up doing great things eventually ;)

2009-2012 (1)

Next update will either be in 2 years or 3, depending on how quickly we start going places.

Anthony van der Shark – SharkyMcShark

Anthony van der Shark spent all the three first years of his career at his first club, Australian Kingston City. He was an instant first-team player, and played a total of 90 league games in his first three seasons, scoring an excellent 46 goals with 19 assists, for an average rating of 7.03. He also featured internationally, helping the Australian U19 team to a fine win over South Korea in the Asian U19 Championship Final. Finally he gained his first three U21 caps, though he is still undecided as to which full national team he wants to play for.
Weeks injured: 0

Arturo Scavelli - Solius

Arturo Scavelli also spent all the first three seasons at his original club, Serie D side Castelsardo. He started out below average, but got better by every season. In the third season the Central Midfielder had 15 goas and 14 assists in 31 games, becoming MoM an incredible 15 times. Overall he played 86 games, scoring 20 with 27 assists and an average rating of 7.34. He also managed to gain one U21 cap for Italy. By the end of the third season he was being monitored by several clubs, among them Siena, Vicenza and Livorno.
Weeks injured: 2

Bob Loblaw - Ivor Ballokov

Bob Loblaw was another who spent all seasons at his original club, Bryntirion. After a somewhat slow start, he gained momentum, and by the third season he had played 97 league games, scoring 13 goals and providing another 38, becoming MoM in an amazing 48 of the games, with an average rating of 8.04. He also had time to make a full 7 U21 games for Northern Ireland. At the end of the season he was being monitored by Oxford and Ross County.
Weeks injured: 5

Das Wálross - Walrus

Das Wálross followed the trend of staying at the club, playing a full 99 league games in the three first seasons. Playing in a more defensive role, he only managed 12 goals and 16 assists in that time, for an average rating of 7.29. He was a valued member of the team though, being made Thatcham vice captain in 2009, and then taking over the full captaincy in 2011. He had no clubs officially watching him, but the transfer window hadn’t even opened yet.
Weeks injured: 0

Dominik Geiger - nyrfan818

Also Dominik Geiger spent all three seasons at his original club, YF Juventus, though that might have come as a surprise. The striker played 86 league games the three first seasons, scoring 35 goals with 7 assists and an average rating of 7.13. He also made his first U21 cap, surely making a good first impression with a debut hattrick. At the end of the third season only PSV were monitoring him, though several other clubs had watched and even bid for him earlier, including Roma. For whatever reason, those bids never amounted to a transfer.
Weeks injured: 1

Ed Weatherall - Ed Weatherall

Though he impressed in his first three seasons, also Ed Weatherall was still at his original club, Alton Town. In 99 league games he had scored 16 goals and provided a further 22, playing for an average rating of 7.36. Despite having a puny influence of 2 he was quickly named vice captain and then captain. With his contract due to expire this summer, odds are he won’t be at the club for long. At the end of the season he was being monitored by a vast host of clubs, including Burnley, Charlton, Norwich and Watford.
Weeks injured: 11

Emile Messi - x42bn6

A freak of nature, Emile Messi’s ambition wasn’t enough to secure him a move away from Woodley Sports during his first three years. Also he played for the first team right off the bat, scoring 8 goals in 92 games, an impressive stat considering his finishing and composure ratings were at 1, 2 or 3 for the entire run. He also managed 30 assists, putting his averate rating at 6.96. Though he originally meant to hold out for an England call-up, he quickly succumed to the pressure and accepted a cal-lup from Saint-Lucia, aged 16. At the end of the season he was being monitored by two clubs: Offenbacher FC Kickers and Atletico Madrid ”B”.
Weeks injured: 0

Erik Sørheim - Eriku

One of the first players to move away from his youth-club, Erik Sørheim played well for the first two seasons, earning him a transfer to Second Division side Strømmen. Over 80 league games Sørheim scored 33 goals, providing 14 assists, earning an average rating of 7.20. He had had quite a torried time with injures in the first few years of his footballing career, though he still managed to start the new Norwegian season well, so far scoring 6 goals in 9 games.
Weeks injured: 30

2009-2012 (2)

Fat Ronaldo - AlwynP

Another one who stayed at the same club for the first three years, Fat Ronaldo had a nice progression through the three seasons. At the end of the third he had played in 99 league games, scoring 32 goals and providing 14 assist, with an average rating of 7.25. Though he had played in U19 games for Ireland, he wanted to wait before fully committing to a full national side. Though he has two years left on his contract, he has a whole bunch of suitors, Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday among them.
Weeks injured: 0

Frank Vulgar - FranklyVulgar

Unlike most, Frank Vulgar didn’t lay about. After only half a season at lowly Pumpherston he was signed by not quite as lowly Galway United, moving from Scotland to Ireland. He progressed well there, and even earned his first couple of U21 games, but had to remain on the sidelines for 8 months when he injured his cruciate ligaments. Because of the injury he had ”only” managed 58 league games in three years, scoring 8 goals but providing 20, with an excellent rating of 7.51.
Weeks injured: 44

Hassan Emirati - uae

Like Frank Vulgar, Hassan Emirati was quick to secure a transfer away from his original club. He played one season there before being snapped up by Stoke for a decent £210k. He has yet to feature in the first team there, but features heavily in the youth teams, and is currently the Stoke U18 captain. He has progressed well, though just lost 4 months to a broken foot. He has gained one favoured personell, Stoke manager Krasimir Balakov.
Weeks injured: 17

Haych Ess Jay - HsJ

Haych Ess Jay is another who has yet to move from his starting club, though he has made himself an integral part of his Winsford team, being chosen captain at a young age. He too has played 99 league games. In that time he has scored 8 goals and provided a further 21 assists, with an average rating of 7.47. His contract is about to expire, but as of yet only three teams are taking much notice: Morton, Thurrock and Dartford.
Weeks injured: 0

Jacob - Jacob

At the age of 16, Jacob is still at his starting club, Impuls Dilijan, though his competitors in the Armenian First League might wish he won’t stay for much longer. In 90 league games he has managed to score 27 times, providing as many as 41 assists, being chosen Man of the Match a full 29 times. His last season was actually his worst, but he still has an average rating over the three seasons of 7.77. He has also managed to represent Swedens U21 sides 13 times. He was just elected Supporters Player of the Year at Impuls Dilijan.
Weeks injured: 0

Jon Muller - muller

Jon Muller has gone the same route as most people, staying at his local Bristol Manor Farm still. He has also managed 99 league games over the three seasons, scoring 15 and providing 26, for an average rating of 7.35. He has also decided not to wait for the opportunity to play for England, and accepted a call-up from Kenya, making his first cap against South Africa, as well as being elected captain at the club.
Weeks injured: 0

Karan Mittal - Karan Mittal

Karan Mittal is among the few who swapped clubs, going from his starting club Chandini to another Indian team, Mohun Bagan. Whether that is a step up or not is hard to say. He has so far managed 90 league games, scoring 8 goals but providing a full 36 assists, making a decent average rating of 7.45. He has recently made his U21 debut, and is happy to stay in India for now.
Weeks injured: 0

Klaus von Überreich - UBERScholes

Despite technically being one of the ones to stay at his local club, Central, Klaus von Überreich is the one who really seems set for the big stage. As well has having quite good progress at his club, 17 goals and 12 assists in 93 games isn’t bad for a defensive midfielder, he has already agreed a transfer to Manchester United (despite being one of the few who doesn’t have them on favoured clubs). He’s part of the Argentina U20s squad that finished 3rd in the U20 World Cup (being beaten by Norway in the Semi’s after a goal by Joshua King).
Weeks injured: 1

2009-2012 (3)

Markus "Stobzilla" Elstob - Stobzilla

Like everyone else, Markus Elstob stayed at his club, Andover for the first three years. And like a lot of other people, he played 99 league games. The striker managed 41 goals and 13 assists in that period, playing to an average rating of 7.22. Though his contract still has a year on it, he’s being watched by Shrewsbury, Hartlepool and Stockport, a big step up from Andover.
Weeks injured: 0

Neil Duck - cold-zebra

Neil Duck was one of the few players to move from his original club. Unlike a few others he stayed in the country, moving from Drogheda Town to Cork City, the ”fierce rivals” of his favourites Shamrock Rovers. He has played 75 league games, scoring only 3 and providing 12, still a decent return of a defender. He has an average rating of 7.21, and has made 6 apperances for the Irish U20 side.
Weeks injured: 11

Nigel Tufnel - GDH

Starting off slowly, if still good, Nigel Tufnle has had such good progression that one wonders if Brymbo Broughton and Welsh Lower Division might not be getting too easy for him. In 99 league games he scored 54 goals, half of them the last season, and provided 12 assists for an average rating of 7.30. He is part of the Welsh U20s side, though he has yet to feature for them. Odds are he won’t be staying at Brymbo for long, as several bigger clubs are monitoring the situation, including Wigan, Elche and TNS.
Weeks injured: 0

Nimicinho - niMic

Another player who saw good progression during the three years, Nimicinho is also another player to move clubs. After one and a half Norwegian seasons he was signed by Second Division side Tønsberg, where he has currently scored 26 in 28 games. Overall he has 60 league games and 48 goals, with 6 assists, for an average rating of 7.31. He has made one U21 cap, though he usually features for the U19 team, which he currently captains. Notodden and Duthc side NAC Breda are currently monitoring him.
Weeks injured: 0

Paz - Paz

Though he has made some progress ability-wise, Paz has actually gone backwards every season since the first in average rating for the season. Playing for Boldmere in the Midland Football Alliance, he has also played 99 league games, scoring 8 goals and providing a further 30. Despite the short decline, he still has an average rating of 7.47 over the period. Though he’s yet to decide which national side he wants to play for, he’s currenly in the Spanish U19 side, and indeed is being watched by two Spanish sides, Xerez and Numancia.
Weeks injured: 1

Sebastien Cassel - Erics collar

Despite also staying at his club, FC Les Lilas, Sebastien Cassel has seen big progress on both his abilities and his performances. After a lackluster first season, he has now played 97 games with 21 goals and 29 assists, with a respectable 7.30 average rating. He has 4 more years and is not currently being monitored by any clubs, but odds are he won’t stay for very long.
Weeks injured: 1

Smashed Hombre - SmashedHombre

Another one who has stayed at his club, the mighty Bowers & Pitsea, and another one who has taken large steps forward performancewise is Smashed Hombre. He has played the full 99 league games, scoring 10 and assisting 16, but with a good average rating of 7.38. Despite his 3 influence rating he is the Bowers & Pitsea captain, though he might not remain so for very long, as such clubs as Bristol City and Burnley are interested.
Weeks injured: 0

Tor Lawless - FlawlessThaw

Starting at a slightly higher level than most of the other players, Tor Lawless has had to adjust to life in the Blue Square Premier. And adjusted he has, with 27 goals and 14 assists in 80 league appearances, and an average rating of 7.18. He has also started making appearances for the England U19 side, though no sign of the U21s yet. There are no clubs interested at the end of the third season, but odds are Altrincham won’t be able to keep him on a contract of £5 p/w, with £7 appearance bonus and £1 goal bonus.
Weeks injured: 5

Nasty big Spanish team!

I believe this makes me the best-ever Saint Lucian player.

What's his foul and card rate like?
