The First Redcafe Sheep Draft

It's a shame that Mauro Tassotti was born in January 1960. Would've loved to have him behind Donadoni on the right. Winger-fullback partnerships that have performed well at the highest level are very appealing, don't you think @AldoPaine18?

I think I need a couple of voter friendly players if I'm to stand a chance here. We'll see how it all pans out - it'll be very interesting to see how many sheep people end up with. That will be a huge factor.

I went for same strategy with addition of going for positions that are not popular for that round. Got my first vote pulling player this round. Have couple more in mind, not stars, but vote pullers!

Satisfied with every one of my picks except the shee so far. Nothing spectacular, but I have a system in mind.

@AldoPaine18 how many rounds of drafting are there? Do I HAVE to play my sheep?

12 rounds, going by the original post - so I guess, as long as you don't end up with 2 sheeps, you won't have to use him :D

You will have a minimum of a 12 player squad at the end of the draft. So as of now, you are okay as you only have one sheep. Another one and you might be in trouble.

as a neutral, what do you think of my squad so far. not counting the sheep

So:

Cafu, Pachecho, Van Nistelrooy, Makelele and pick 5.

Yeah, it looks lovely so far. It's obviously a bit early to judge teams because you have one player in defence, one player in midfield and one player in attack. Difficult to see the chemistry with 3 players, but yeah definitely 3 players that I'd love to see in a draft. I have no idea who your sheep is, so unless you get another sheep, I won't make any research regarding him until then

Interesting to see who your successful 5th pick is, and I'm sure it'll give your a team more identity.

Edit: Just realised you said ignore the sheep. My bad. But yeah, whatever :D

Sorry guys, am just waiting for rpit to come back. Am about to take a relatively risky pick and want his opinion before going for it.

So long as you are fine waiting ~5 hours for me later if I need to pick. Going fishing in about 20 mins.

 Nah, we are a team.

Why not pm your next choice to aldo. incase you fail? Its not like the result will change your mind.

I did with the last turn, here the blocks could have an impact, much like Overmars has.

I don't want to force anyone to make a pick but this is Sat night, no idea when someone may or may not come online

Leave three, in descending order then? If all three of your choices are blocked in the second round, then you are just plain unlucky.

Not sure you are getting it right. Overmars being blocked both means not going for him AND maybe prioritising the position. Same here, all info counts and without the info I can't tell which of the three I'm considering I would finally pick. It's not like I can go for a goalie here ;)

It's all your fault to begin with

I mean Seedorf, not the delay. You are entitled to wait until the deadline if you so wish.

Odd thing with that, I thought of making it a rule for certain players to have an AM but, in practice, that seems to add extra consultation and time, not the opposite.

You get your pick anyway, if it's the one I think it is. So go fishing ;). I also will call you a cnut, if it's the one I think it is, probably several times.

Haha didnt think about the prioritizing part.

Its not like I have had much luck with my picks either, yet to get one before the second round :(

20 min and then will make the pick if he is not here.
Listen man it's okay you can a little longer if you want to wait for him, that's the whole idea of the deadline, don't let people rushing you take the worst of it. That was exactly the point when we said that only if people sent their picks the round will be over but the deadline is there to use it. You can take your time imo

Not really, normally draft deadline is there for fall backs. No one needs 8-12 hours to make a pick. It is to account for someone being asleep or offline when their turn comes

Thanks, I do understand his pov as well though. As its annoying waiting to see if your pick went through or not so can understand his eagerness. Besides I dont think it will effect the final decision on my team that much.
