The First Redcafe Sheep Draft

I had already sent my second round pick. If gone, feck you Balu! Seems to work every time I tell you so ;)

Chester passes again. Mans playing a blinder.

Yep, while he hasn't been targetting the topmost tier of players, he has an excellent foundation now to add a couple of star names and take it up a notch. Specially when the ones who missed out earlier wouldn't be able to take further risks which is where he can capitalize.

I was pretty honest with Sammer, he didn't fit in your team after the Koeman pick. That would have been a clash of styles. Not sure about my pick now, I was a bit worried, that someone might go for him, not you though. But I might be wrong here, not entirely sure what kind of team you are trying to build.

Aye, figured you meant him. No, wouldn't have worked, not as the defensive partner. There's someone else who would be awesome between Koeman and Brehme though.

My next pick is very much one you would have been juggling here. A fullback in fact, maybe I can get two without a block?

Glad Overmars got banned, would have been a guaranteed miss for me in this round.

Am I going mad? Did someone mention something very specfic on here? Deleted? Not my boy anyway.

Well, now I'm confused. Did I get who you think I did? I agree on RC conflict, but Xabi. He is quite integral to my setup. Can't work without him.

Bloody white text :D

Dunno mate, that's the point. Nothing like giving people tactical advice on unknown players. Can't go wrong.

Wouldn't he be awesome in any team?

He would be happy next to Sammer as well, I'm pretty sure of it . I'd argue that's what he prefers actually.

You know full well that's the best fit you could come up with, they all add up beautifully.

What if I don't give a question that fits him? (Not that I know who you are talking about)

Would be fair I guess. Shocked he hasn't gone, I expected him to get banned at first attempt a couple of turns ago, but I didn't have Brehme yet. It's the addition of him and Koeman's needs which makes him stick out like a sore thumb.

I'm surprised he's still unpicked as well, but he wasn't eligible in the last 2 rounds and Sammer was the more important pick for me before.

...or picks crap players!

Seriously, though, I did decide before the draft started to go for players who probably aren't on everyone's radar - but who are nevertheless excellent footballers. The one exception so far has been the Great Dane - but then I was pretty sure I'd land him, as nobody would go for a keeper that early. Turns out Balu did, of course, but he was never going to block my man, given his theme.

What Aldo suggested above is pretty much what I intend to do - I think I need a couple of voter friendly players if I'm to stand a chance here. We'll see how it all pans out - it'll be very interesting to see how many sheep people end up with. That will be a huge factor.

If we're on the same page here this is a player I seriously considered going for this round. But I decided against it - too big a risk, I thought. My money's on him having been picked here.

I'm trying to do something with my picks 2 and 3 but trying to slip the obvious pick of the round in as number one, if I get it then hooray for me, if not, then at least he is blocked.

Solid but unspectacular thus far for me.

He's too big a player to be picked in this round .

Aye - that's a good approach, I reckon. If things go as I hope I'll be in a position to play harder in the late stages: then I may go for something more akin to your method, and block players I know will strengthen the opposition.
