The First Redcafe Sheep Draft

And the unvote should not be used later than 60 mins prior to closure.
I agree. Would be great if that was a rule. The Tito vs Cutch game felt like 4 or 5 people wanted to make sure that it ends up in penalties, that's not how the games should be played out and as much fun as penalties are, a close finish with a lucky winner is just as great.

I agree with that too. Not sure if it's enforceable though. How can we keep constant track of who votes/unvotes?

I'd trust the 30 voters not to be cnuts, if it's an official rule of the game.

Just returned from an overseas trip
Give me 15 to put something together, thanks

Make the vote-count secret for everybody but the two managers? So nobody will have a clue what the actual vote is so they will vote on whoever deserves the win rather than to reach penalties.

Sergio Busquets
Cruyff said:
“Positionally, he seems like a veteran with or without the ball. With the ball he makes what is difficult look easy: he disposes of the ball with one or two touches. Without the ball, he gives us a lesson: that of being in the right place to intercept and running just to recover the ball.”

Xavi said:
“Without Busquets we could never have achieved what we have. He’s the best midfielder there is playing one-touch. He doesn’t need more. He controls, looks and passes in one touch.”

Del Bosque said:
“If I was reincarnated as a footballer, I would like to be like Busquets.”

Guardiola said:
“He’s the best defensive midfielder in the world. Barcelona have a priceless player. He can follow in the footsteps of Carles Puyol and Xavi. If I was reincarnated as a player, I’d like to be like him.”

Mascherano said:
“Xavi and Iniesta are the most creative midfielders in the world, but, above all, there is Busquets.”

Fernando Redondo
Argentine grandmaster who schooled an entire generation of midfield greats

Zinedine Zidane
Poetic footballing artist and fiercely competitive winner who dominated the biggest theatres in breathtaking and awe inspiring fashion

Gareth Bale
Explosive pace, devastating directness, flawless ball-striking technique and most importantly, excellent end-product

Brian Laudrup
Insanely gifted Danish wizard who weaved such dazzling magic leaving opponents with wide eyes, dropped jaws and floundering limbs.

Samuel Eto’o
Born to score, such natural instincts and seemingly effortless talent, screamers, tap-ins, headers, volleys, he scores them all

Sub: İlkay Gündoğan, Mat Hummels, Emmanuel Petit

Since I already used the sort by number of sheep thingy for the first reinforcement round, what do people think of a sheep style reinforcement round?

Same thing as earlier, all 4 semi finalists pick someone from the pool left from those who went out in the quarters. 2 rounds and only one attempt per round.

What? Sure you would use the snake again (inverted) and maybe do the banned style for the final?

I'm in for any future drafts @Polaroid @antohan @Annahnomoss

I had an idea in mind but seems like there is lots of people waiting lol.

I think Polaroid and Antohan are the ones who waited the longest. If you have an idea I'd not rate it lower in the ladder than mine so check the interest in it.

I am sure we can have a vote or something in the end or whatever by the managers.

 Imagine the threads in the general moaning. "All these stupid threads cluttering up the football forums".

I know this doesn't mean anything and it's usually just whoever replies the quickest, but I'd love a spot in whenever the next draft is.

Let's see. I won't mind a small break at the end of this as we have had two drafts almost back to back. Anto is planning a sheep draft as well as far as I know so maybe he can let someone else run something else instead of having two sheep drafts in a row.

In the end it all depends on who is free to run it. I hurried up this one a bit after the last one as I had loads of time in February.

In any case, whoever is doing next count me in. I deserve a spot after watching this one from outside. :D

I actually think that with the number of managers eager to play the next one we shouldn't wait too long before starting the next one.
Really looking forward for the semi finals.

Annah and I will jointly run an auction draft, details are yet to be firmed up but essentially the concept is that managers will bid for players using a limited pot of transfer funds.

Managerial list to date
Annah
Pol
Aldo
Rpitroda
Isotope
Edgar

Sorry if I missed out some, please add your name here, we can go up to 32 managerial places if the demand is really there

And I think kps wanted too.

Sounds good Pol.

I will have fun sitting back and watching that unfold.

edit: when does Antohan and Gio kick off?

@Polaroid @Annahnomoss

Sounds interesting, but have either of you considered what the timeline of players available would be?
I would like to participate, by the way

Let's discuss timming, etc. Mine was bound to be all-time and I would rather give that a rest for one more draft. May be best if you guys go first.

I think it is going to take a lot of mod time. Getting pool of players with values tagged and such.

I have solutions for all this that will work. The fundamental principle will be that the market-value is determined by the market. If some player like Messi is valued at 1 mill, it wouldn't matter at all as the market will still make the price the same. So players who are valued below what you think they are worth - will reach their actual market value if your idea of their value is shared by others. If it isn't then you deserve the player you got for cheap.

Me and Pol have to discuss everything through before I make stuff public.

I have played it a few times so feel free to ask about anything if you are not sure.
I was searching on Google, managed to find one from the same site you found the Sheep Draft. This is the group of players that someone arrived with after 8 rounds :wenger:
