I think Gio might beat Antohan. I think Pippa v Pol could go all the way to penalties. I think EAP will win and no idea how my own will go.
That is way too tight for predictions in my eyes. I can see all the ones said to lose there take a clear victory as well. I've never been unsure about every single match-up in the fixtures.
Yeah anto vs Gio is a tough one, but I'm not sure how much credit average voters will give to the likes of Lopez and Michel. His midfield 3 is brilliant though. I think anto only had one criticism which was two sweepers together which he has got rid of, plus his players are all voter friendly.
Pol is a bit unlucky to draw Pippa. I can see Giggs vs Gallas being banged about the whole game.

Yeah i'm startin to agree with you actually, suppose not everyones gonna have the same hard on i have for Claudio Lopez, and i forgot that Anto got Thuram.
Agree aswell about Giggs v Gallas. Gallas is a class defender though, can think of much worse players to have marking him even if he is out of position.
He's playing Thuram at centre back so whilst it's a definite improvement as a partnership it doesn't match Gio's Bergomi/Kohler set up IMO.
But the bigger question mark for that side would be Cocu/Schwein/Bergkamp dealing with Davids/Simeone/Rivaldo. It's an inferior trio really in most ways I think, and of course he has the weaker striker in Cavani compared with Vieri.

You really screwed my head around.. Not sure now if they'll start: Amoros-Lucio-Sammer-Sanchis-Maldini or Jorginho-Lucio-Sammer-Maldini-Amoros
That's the benefit of picking a versatile player.
It can also be Amoros - Lucio - Sammer - Maldini - Branco. (Maldini as a wingback doesn't really make sense.)
Jorginho must surely start, he is almost as good as Amoros so would be pointless to bench him. Jorginho is better for a 5 man defense as well so it would be a pretty damn weird choice.

Branco is much more suited to playing as an out-and-out wingback as he had a great left foot and carried the ball very well. Jorginho was an attacking fullback but not a genuine attacking threat on his own whereas Branco offers a very useful threat. Much better passer and more comfortable on the ball more than anything which is what sways it for me here. And of course he could always score a cracker out of nothing. Physically he's not as impressive as his '94 team-mate or many of the fullbacks in this draft but with the ball at his feet he's very handy. And with Maldini backing him up he'll have plenty of licence to get involved in the attack.

I meant that Jorginho was better than Amoros offensively as a wing-back which is what puzzles me then. I get if you wanted a rock-solid defensive foundation so you went for Amoros-Jorginho and benched Branco.
Of all those three wing-backs, Jorginho would be the first one on the team sheet on the right if I had the same choice. Similar to Cafu with his great stamina, pace and crosses.
Amoros is the best full-back of the three though in my opinion.

Amoros is perfectly comfortable at wingback and possesses the necessary grit, tenacity and defensive nous to match up against a quality player like Nedved. Jorginho doesn't. And it seems abundantly clear that those who watched him regularly think he's not of the required standard.
Why not Monday noon? Tuesday noon to Wednesday noon is usually the busiest I am all week.
