The first Cricket sheep thread

Some of these picks are massively obscure. How the feck are you supposed to rate any of them?

And Shane Bond? The guy was top draw but he's not even played 20 tests.

He got the best of strike rate compared rest to bowlers picked.

Bond only played less than 20 Tests ? It seemed he was around forever. Poor guy had rotten luck with Injuries.

The range for this draft is far too big which kind of ruins the thing, practically impossible to judge players from the 50's with current players.

Yes but with a time period say 1960 onwards till now only and in sheep format, it would have resulted in lot more blocks and after that would have been difficult to separate between teams. With 16 players and 12 men team, if you add blocks, there won't have been enough good players to keep it interesting. Lot many 30 or so batting avg players would have been picked and it would have been difficult to compare. Initially we started with age criteria but seeing the no. of blocks, it would have been unsustainable, particularly when we reach later criteria.

Couple of years ago we played a cricket draft but that was snake format and with no blocks to worry, criteria was debut after 1960 and still everyone had quite good teams. But we had only 12 teams I think.

I'm looking forward for next year's game.

You can't win anything with Khaled Mashud

I am off to sleep soon. We are not done yet with round 2 picks.

Shame about the sheep because your last three picks have been absolute top.

Those sheep will cost me. I can accept carrying one and to be fair Chetan Sharma was not too bad.

That Tendulkar debut-retirement criteria fecked me. Went big with Hayden, expected it to be blocked but didn't expect Kirsten or Graham Thorpe to go.

There's one guy who I wanted in from the start. He fits the recent rounds but because of the sheep I had to set my sights higher, and fortunately I got my picks but he's as of now still out there. Hopefully I get him. I see him as a nice balance.
