Once saw this woeful stand-up comic perform in an open mic. Lo and behold, few months later he shared the stage with some of the city's best comics. How? He found a short-cut by taking the onus of organizing gigs for the more talented ones and squeezing himself in the line up, eventually fancying himself to be as good as the seasoned bunch. I was going through this for the first time...and it was kind of a mixed mash up, but then ended up with a pretty generic top 6...although considering he got the top 3, pretty surprising The Conversation isn't in the list at all. Dude was the master though.

City of God finishing higher than Scarface is just crazy.
Scarface is an iconic movie but taken purely as a film in its own right much like Bullet and Vanishing point and similarly iconic movies it really isn't much more than a good and enjoyable but somewhat limited movie.
City of God is genuinely something that stands out as a movie even if like me you thought it was a little derivative in places.
