This really is nostalgia heaven for me, played it when it was first released, and getting the exact same feeling now again, what a fecking game.

It's been ages since I've sat up all night playing a game not realising I should've gone to bed hours ago. Perfectly timed the release with a week off from studies!

You're all really enjoying FFX?

I started it and jumped back on my playthrough of FF9, it cured the loss of save blues completely. It is Final Fantasy, ish. It's dumbed down to almost insanity though.

Well, I quite like the multiple battle at once system, I'll give it that. The sphere system I might be able to get used to, but holy crap, there was nothing wrong with the system before! Why did they feel they had to change it? There was always something immensely satisfying about the older way of levelling up through EXP on top of AP and I feel like a little has been lost. I only got up to the first save after Wakku's introduction, and I'm going to give it another go after FF9. I have to say it's nothing like I expected though. The healing every save is making things a little easier than I honestly think they should be in a Final Fantasy, I always put them as games who rewarded people for thinking ahead. Now you just level up around every save point, not as much challenge.

I dunno, 7, 8 and 9 all have pretty different systems, I don't think X's is much of a departure. It basically just combines experience and ap into the sphere level so you get more choice how to develop your character (well, if you're using the 'expert' grid).

Ah, well that's why then.

Going onto expert grid on next playthrough.

Okay does anyone else feel FFX is easier this time round? Some of the boss fights have been a lot simpler than I remember and it's not like I've been grinding either. I didn't have to resort to using Aeon Overdrives on the Machina boss near the exit of the calm lands or on Seymour Flux which was the case in the PS2 version, even after grinding for a while.

I played the PS2 version not long ago and those two fights were still pretty tough despite me knowing exactly how to tackle them.

Not played the HD version but it wouldn't surprise me at all if it had been made easier

Managed to defeat Penance earlier on the Vita FFX. Such a loooooooong boring battle, in retrospect I should have just gone the Zanmato route.

If I could bring myself to play Blitzball I could Platinum it, but I can't stand it.

Bought FFX a few 2 weeks ago but haven't found the time to finish downloading it. Hopefully have it done this weekend.

Bought it initially when it came out but I never enjoyed it as it seemed too different from the previous installments. Hoping things are different this time around.

FF was never difficult, whatever it is you're just a grind away

And IMHO FFX was underrated, it's not much worse than FFVII which says alot to me. Blitzball minigame is a treat on its own. The sphere grid is ace if you're a min/max type of guy and it leaves ample room for playability long after the game finishes (with ultima weapon being badass)

Most every RPG, turn based especially are quite easy games.

FFX is a great game, but it's not quite on the level of PSX ones. Far, far, far better than anything that came after it though.

Just sat down for a bash at FF VI, ended up sitting for half an hour listening to Terras theme.

 I think that everybody does that. I remember posting something similar last year when I played it. It is such an amazing soundtrack.

Just seen Tomalonge has been banned. Any idea why?

He seemed like a sound bloke. Never found out what he thought of disc 3 on FFIX either

I am running FF6 on ZSNES. I'm at Albrook after the Opera House and all of a sudden everything feels like it's in slow motion. Had no problems before now but it's horrible, anyone had similar issues before/know what's going on?

I've also noticed FFIV is on Steam too, which can only have happened in the last couple of days.

Also, new trailer for XV. Finally we're getting XIII-Versus.
