The F1 Thread 2015 Season

It snapped really fast in a straight line under braking which is odd, I mean it happens but its quite rare to see. Watching the replay, could be the tyre on the white line which is still damp or it could just simply be cold rear tyres because he was tucked up behind the Williams on his lead up to the lap so he probably had to back off and lose temp.

yeah the snap is what make it look strange , its not something you see.
Hopefully not something more to it.

LOL @ F1 - the final lap of Q3. kimi faffing it up. 25 spot grid peno , silly shit really. need to have some heavy changes in the sport or face the possibility of fewer races.

three people dead and 34 were injured, some seriously.
RIP to the dead and hopefully the injured will recover.
Eyewitness Helmut Reinisch told the BBC he saw bodies lying on the ground "covered in blood," including a young boy.

Governor Hermann Schuetzenhoefe told reporters that the suspect arrested was a 26-year-old man, describing him as "deranged" also reported he got out of the car and attacked passers-by with a knife before he could be subdued.

:wenger::wenger:

The McLarens of Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button will start today’s Austrian GP from the back row of the grid before taking additional penalties at the start of the race, the FIA have confirmed.

As only 20 cars will compete in the grand prix, and both drivers have been hit with 25-place demotions for breaching their permitted engine allowances, Alonso will also receive a drive-through penalty during the opening three laps of the grand prix while Button will suffer a ten-second stop-and-go punishment.

A stiffer sentence has been meted out against Button as the Englishman, who set the 17th fastest time in qualifying compared to Alonso’s 15th, could have only served three of his 25-place demotion.

Hamilton was nowhere all weekend until Q3, did well to pull that first lap out. I'd be quietly confident if I were Rosberg or Vettel though, whoever's second after turn 1 should have a decent slipstream heading up to turn 2.

I agree I thought he was struggling until he put that lap in, not only did he get back the 0.4 he was down he added 0.2 on top , was a stunning lap.
His spin at the end of Q3 worries me a bit, was a strange spin, could mean a problem somewhere ?

The penalties for cars already at the back are just too harsh, way too harsh. The driver has already been punished, punish the team in some way if you want to go further but let the drivers just race.

Hamilton will have his work cutout to win this one I think, I suspect his race pace will be in better shape than his quali pace but Rosberg and Vettel will be on him.

I have this feeling that Lewis will be in 3rd by the end of lap 1, cant put my finger on it but something is not right with him and or the car.

I agree, stop with the stupid pens, the drivers just want to drive so let them, its not the drivers fault the cars has problems.
Fine the team and or take constructors points of them, but something needs to be done , the grid drops today and just daft.

Has the feel of a good race this one, not sure the undercut will work because of the tyre warmup and we still have a small chance of rain.

How do they not have onboard footage from Alonso for that crash? Come on.

Kimi wasn't far off a bad one there, that chassis got too close for comfort.

If I remember right only something like half the cars have on board cameras. I think. No idea why.
