The F1 Thread 2015 Season

Mercedes have their advantage back, it seems. Hamilton looking impressive in Q1. McLaren shit again.

Ferrari are capable of challenging for the win again I think, their long run pace and tyre deg is still excellent. I wonder how long it is before Mercedes shutdown the whole equality thing and start letting their drivers make differing strategies, can afford to do that when you win anyway but when another team threatens you have to react and go aggressive.

this is dead on. if they can get the performance from the chassis/tires that and vettle and kimi are good drivers you never know.
but the benz boys looked good.

Not the most interesting race but it was pretty good up until the last stint, Vettel pushed Rosberg pretty good and Raikkonen might have had a battle with Vettel at the end. Another keep them at arms length victory for Hamilton though, he's getting good at those.

Is Nico Rosberg the new Mark Webber? :(

He offers very little threat to Hamilton in race conditions, has he ever overtaken him? But Webber had weekends where he literally let Vettel romp away because he had nothing, Rosberg atleast keeps it interesting most weekends and is pretty decent over 1 lap.

That's 10 consecutive podiums for Hamilton. The 4th longest run in Formula 1 history. Schumacher managed 19. That's surely within sight right now.

Rosberg is crying again, Hamilton couldn't contain the smirk on his face in that Sky interview

Gotta be a gif of Hamilton smirking looking at Rosberg soon.

Press conference will be interesting to watch, Rosberg complained that Lewis was driving too slow, his response "it's not my job to look after Nico's race, he can overtake"

Didn't watch the race but it doesn't sound like I missed too much.

If Nico thinks he can take Lewis then he should of, complaining that if he gets closer he'll ruin his tyres is a cop out; that's racing. Lewis got pole, he gets the free air, take it like a man.

Lewis is clearly the better driver, Nico will only win if Lewis fecks up.

I could understand the anger if Rosberg had a point, he doesn't so he just looks stupid. He's getting himself all worked up over basically nothing.

Rosberg talks a lot but does very little, Hamilton's won 9 of the last 11 and in Brazil he spun and cost himself victory otherwise it would have been 10 out of 11.

Rosberg, what a whinging little girl. Particularly after all his shenanigans at Spa and Monaco.

Hamilton was most likely just driving his own race, the implication from Rosberg that Hamilton was purposely driving slowly so Vettel could jump him is stupid because Vettel is closer in the standings anyway so why the feck would Hamilton risk or do that? It's not some fecking elaborate master plan from Hamilton. The same Rosberg who invited Vettel to an engineering debrief at Sepang. Rosberg's fried mentally IMO.

Rosberg really can't stand being second best can he? I love when drivers show their emotions like this though, it's great to see the passion and rivalry. It's a shame Rosberg is nowhere near Hamiltons level

Pretty straightforward race for Lewis.

Britney sounded very bitter, seems like the psychological battle has already been won by Lewis.

Rosberg has become #2 and dead quick too. too bad the temperatures rose maybe SF gets closer but benz , and hammy in particular , look unbeatable.

Just seen the interview. WOW, sucha bitter bastard. How was Lewis backing him up btw? I haven't seen the race, but according to Lewis he never came within 4 seconds of Lewis. And like Lewis says, if he felt he was being backed up, why not catch up and overtake?

This year anything within the 4 second mark is dirty air, which slows you down, makes it hard to pass and destroys the tyre life, he was clearly backing up, the team were even threatening lewis with rosberg getting the better option if he didnt cop on.

Is this just for the mercs?

In fact @christy87, I have seen this year races between Ham and Ros which have been less than 4 seconds. Why has this 4 second, dirty air shite suddenly become a factor?

The noses have been raised again since 2014 but I'm not convinced its as big an issue as some are saying.

If Rosberg was smart he would have done the exact same thing to Vettel.

He wasn't winning the race as Lewis is a better driver so he should have put Vettel in dirty air as well.

If he really wanted to win the race he should have tried to pass Lewis or else stop complaining.
