The F1 Thread 2015 Season

feck it I hope there is a downpour towards the end here.

Vettel's got it in the bag... Wonder if Rosberg will go to the end, think that might be a bit of a stretch.

Mercedes strategy has made zero sense, only chance was to be on the option vs prime at the end and they didn't even have the options to give him.

Loss of power for JB? feck off Honda.

Radio communication disaster on Hamiltons side of the pitwall:lol:

If Rosberg catches Hamilton on options I reckon he might explode in anger, piss poor effort from the strategy guys today, baffling.

Its like they forgot how to race when they don't have a massive advantage

If it stays like this am I right in saying it's the first Ferrari race win since early 2013?

"Don't talk to me in the corners I almost went off" - Now I can understand it and it makes sense because they are concentrating hard in the turns but is this a Hamilton thing or a driver thing in general? I have heard Hamilton complain about this on the radio several times over the years but never seem to hear any other driver moaning about it.

Kimi has complained about it in the past.

Honestly I'm glad Ferrari appear to be back, Vettel/Raikkonen vs Hamilton is far more interesting than pretending to care about Hamilton fending off Rosberg with one arm. Even though Mercs fecked this one up badly that Ferrari pace is real.

Yeah, it's genuine pace from Ferrari which is good to see, need a few others catch up and I reckon we will have good 2nd half of the season.

Ah so it's a driver thing in general then? Seems like a pretty rookie engineer mistake to keep making to me?
I think it's an engineer mistake, yea, which is why you probably don't hear drivers complain about it too often - it generally doesn't happen.

Apart from Rosberg, obviously, who wants his engineer to tell him how much to turn the wheel.

It is a rookie mistake but it happens a lot because engineers need to call stuff on the fly, Mercedes have paniced on the pitwall today to the point Paddy Lowe was broadcasting general team talk to his race drivers.

I wonder if this is the James Allison effect for Ferrari, Lotus used to be really good in the hot races and looked after the tyres better.

Seriously they rarely had a chance of winning before the massive advantage last year and they are still Rookies when it comes to a battle.

Yesss come on Ferrari

Good race from Kimi considering not only where he started but also the puncture in the worst possible place.

SC helped, but still.

Urgh, Vettel.

Mercedes totally cocked that race up. I mean, the Ferrari pace was good to see, but like Australia it would only have been good enough for third if Mercedes hadn't made an absolute balls up of their strategy yet again.

Let's not forget, last year they got the strategy wrong repeatedly but the car was so far ahead of the others (both figuratively and literally on the circuit) that it didn't matter. They still eased to a 1-2 finish. But that's because their closest challengers were a Red Bull team having a season-long internal meltdown, rather than a Ferrari team hot on their tails for pace.

Now that their strategy choices matter again I expect them to throw away a lot more points this season. Is it Paddy Lowe responsible for strategy choices? Should never have kicked out Ross Brawn.

Absolutely, 4th is a miracle from there. He obviously had damage too, shit quali........Mercedes are lucky as feck that Raikkonen has had a mare of a weekend.

I missed quali, did the rain come at the wrong time for him?
