The F1 Thread 2014 Season

He just came out of the car, i didn't expect him to be any different. Give him 24hrs to sort himself out and we'll see how he gets on in the race.

To be fair to him he made a worse mistake last time out and still nearly won.

He can still win but he is gonna need a perfect race. Be a big blow to lose on home soil from yet another self inflicted error though.

Gonna have to hope for rain for Hamilton...which certainly isn't out of the question.

Really? Seriously?

Hungaroring, Spa, Monza, Singapore. 4 tracks where Hamilton is a stronger driver than Rosberg on. Less of the knee jerk reactions.
He's a faster driver at all of the tracks, trouble is that Rosberg always just seems smarter than him.

Hamilton is faster than Rosberg but he definitely doesn't come across as one of the more intelligent drivers on the grid. I didn't think that would ever really affect him regarding racing but today it did

Singapore is probably Rosberg's best track, one of the few where I would expect him to beat Hamilton (who I know is mighty around there too) on outright pace. Spa will be pretty close to call too.

The title isn't over. The gap isn't insurmountable. Rosberg will have DNFs at some point. Plus the big wild card is the double points in the final race (still can't quite believe they are doing this).

If he does not do well today 2nd or 3 rd at very least but really a win is a must, he will find winning very much harder, Nico seems to have the upper hand at every corner so far.
We have seen Lewis like this before, he gets frustrated and will make mistakes.
If he keeps in touch with Nico and it all come down to the last race with double points and he win the championship, for ,me at lest it will be a tainted win.

Absolutely no doubt about that. If anyone wins it that way it'll be bullshit.

A championship is about consistent performance over a season, no one round should be worth more than others.

Just watching the pre race on the beeb, every time I hear Hamiltons age it almost surprises me. Dunno why but I still think of his as a young driver.

Who'd have thought after this many years in the sport he'd only have the one title?

It is mad isn't it, I always think the same of Alonso all that talent yet somehow he's "only" a double World Champion and hasn't been since 2006.

Lewis has the equipment to win the WDC this year but Alonso really needs to move away from Ferrari if he wants another tittle.

Ferrari need to pull their collective finger out and give him and Kimi a fast and drivable car next season. They've built so many dogs over the last handful of years.

Meanwhile Vettel - who not so very long ago people questioned whether he could actually pass other drivers - has 4 world championships. This kind of thing is why I only take a fleeting interest in F1.

Only idiots questioned his ability to overtake.

Who the feck digs a trench next to the circuit like that? It could have been much worse than it has been, insanely dangerous when these cars are going so fast. Fecking hell, Kimi should sue the arse off the race organisers.

Hamilton will be spitting - amazing start, and now he has to do it all again. And he's also reporting damage now.
