The F1 Thread 2013 Season

Vettel crosses the line to win as Webber's car goes into flames. If that hasn't summed up the Red Bull team then I don't know what can.

Surely there must be some reason as to why all these things happen to webber and not to vettel. I do know that vettel also had one problem this year but webber almost always has these problem? It surely can't be coincidence?

This.

Really wanted Button to hold out for a podium, but his tyres were just too worn out. Also I really want Hulkenburg to get into one of the top teams, he is a better driver than Grosjean, Massa and Perez in the top teams (if you count McClaren as a top team at the moment). I realy want to see him replace Perez at McClaren in fact, don't think he's cut out to be there.

"I'm loving it"

He's such a prick.

I turned off after the first two laps when Vettel was already six seconds ahead, and turned back on for the last few laps and it looks like I missed nothing.

Webber puts a lot more strain on the car because it's not designed around his style of racing - it's all completely focused on Vettel's style.

Bit of a walk in the park this year for Vettel, roll on next year which will shake the field up a bit. Either that or someone needs to steal Newey's drawing board at Red Bull.

Someone should make Newey feck off and design speed boats, I heard that's what he wants to do. 4 World Titles is enough now, come on.

The guy's a genius though, it's boring for those who aren't RBR/Vettel fans but you have to admire what Newey and his team have done since the rule changes in 2009.

I think they should put him in Marussia and see what he could do there, I actually wonder how far he could improve them with what he would be given?

Alonso and Kimi are the top two racers right now with Vettel 3rd. It's not even funny just how much superior the Newey designed car is compared to the rest of the field.

vettle never looked like he was going to lose. decent racing at the end as the faster cars on different tyres charged forward.

I don't think it would've been that much of an issue if Alonso hadn't parked on the racing line & both Mercedes had to take avoiding action.

FFS Webber has got a 10 place grid drop for getting a lift of Alonso, that is just a joke.
bit of a joke really. I thought it was a good moment, showing that they were friends off the track.

Going to make it tough for mark now. I would have liked to see him get a race win in the remaining races before he retires

I like Mark , not one of the best driver but a very likeable bloke, I think he would be happy with a couple of top 3's.
Looking at the vid, not the best place for Alonso to stop, the reprimands they both got were maybe correct, Mark was just unlucky it was his 3rd one this season.

Webber probably doesn't give a shit. He is retiring, and it is pretty clear the team doesn't care about his results vs Vettels. Same thing that happened during the Schmacher years - the number 2 drivers car is fecked while the number 1 has no problems.

I liked Schumacher. Vettel.. not so much

I see the "please don't boo him" phase has begun. I doubt he really cares and I'm not sure those that are booing him even know why they are apart from him dominating, but many people haven't forgiven him for Malaysia and that damaged his image badly.

I lost all respect for him in that race, particularly the "get him out of the way" radio comment, said with such utter disgust for his teammate. feck him.

Off the track Vettel is a nice guy but once the race starts he turns into a twat but that helps him win races and when your an F1 driver that's all you care about.

He's ruthless, without doubt. But he's going down the exact same route as Schumacher did, dominating but being a cnut in doing so. Schumacher was incredible at his peak but he treat his teammates like shit and bent the rules at every oppurtunity, ruthless but cnutish.

That's fair enough if you want to win like that but after 3 consecutive world titles and a front running and predominantly dominant car for 4 seasons running, did Vettel have to continue to be a twat behind the wheel? Not really. Look to other sports and see guys like Valentino Rossi, dominate their sport yet universally loved by the fans because he did it with class.

I never liked Schumacher. His blatant cheating put me off. Except when it backfired. Then it was hilarious.

I liked Schmacher because he took the challenge of leaving Benneton and taking on the Williams and then the Mclarens with a pretty crap car. F1 races from the 96-00 were great IMO. I was a young kid at the time, but that's what I remember best.

Vettel and Schumacher are apparently mates.. Rumor is that Vettel will move to Ferrari as he wants to emulate Schumacher in every way.

If Vettel wins every race and Alonso finishes 2nd, Vettel will win the title in India.
I think there are 6 more races and Vettel leads by 60points. If he wins the next 3 and Alonso finishes 2nd every time, Vettel will lead by 81 points and is champion with 3 more races to go.

Yeah my maths is saying he will win in India with 3 races to go.

Webber in missing the point due to clouds of bitterness shocker.
Yeah, I really don't understand the love for Webber on here. He fecked up his chance to win the title in 2010 and he really can't blame anyone but himself for it. Since then he never came even close again to compete, yet all he does is moaning and crying now when he rarely helped Vettel in the past years. In comparison to Massa, whose role at Ferrari is a complete joke since Alonso joined the team, Webber certainly had a lot of freedom to win. Even when Red Bull had by far the best car he struggled to perform consistently on a top level. He's bitter and acts like an idiot because his team wisely chose to back the better driver, that's it. Smart decision by Red Bull, imagine if they had told Vettel to let Webber pass in Brazil 2010 because Webber had the lead in the championship over Vettel, then Alonso would have won the title.

so we will soon see him taking his rivals physically out of the race?

Probably not, as no one is close enough to concern him at the moment

Ah the whole "Schumacher deliberately took Hill out" thing again. Even Murray Walker disagrees with you. You sound like my dad.

Who loves Webber on here? I think the majority think he's quite shit and hasn't been any good since 2010.

Way to miss the point of the post.

Don't you mean Villenueve?
