The F1 Thread 2013 Season

The teams are very secretive with their finances, its tough to get actual figures.

Red Bull for example split their costs across a couple of divisions I think, so they say oh our F1 team spent £300 million but they don't tell you how much went into Red Bull Technology which is basically their whole aero/development wing.

The general rumours are Red Bull spend a lot, as do Ferrari and now Mercedes are really going for it too. McLaren perhaps are belt tightening a bit whilst they expand their automotive division. I think bang for buck Lotus is generally considered the most efficient with actual on track success.

Got to say I was worried about NBC taking over from Speed for US coverage but it looks like they've done what I thought other channels should have done for non-US sports. Live races and quali plus reruns at normal times. Hopefully they do the same for football. Great way to keep the die hard fans happy and attempt to get new fans. Shame they didn't do this for the olympics.

Wouldn't be surprised if this plays into Ferrari's hands. Alonso usually does well in the wet. Had it been dry Vettel would've been penciled in for pole.

For me Lewis is one of the best wet drivers, will be interesting to see what he does with his new car in the wet, but yes Alonso is a cracking wet driver too. The wet for me always takes the edge that Vettel has away.

The puddles will clear quickly with cars out there, without them your already looking at Inters which begs the question why bring full wets at all?

Rain ain't gonna stop, daylight is running out, FIA are gutless fairies.

Just tuned in...holy feck, another Japan situation anyone? Wouldn't be surprised to be honest.

Woke up at 8AM running half blind to the living room to watch qualifying, only to find out it's been postponed.

Is that not what the problem is on this track, some of the standing water does not drain from this track, but get them out on full wets.

Well here we go , Q1 is about a minute away

Cars now at the end of the pitlane, and we are underway!

Massa:lol:

This McLaren has no chance this weekend, well well off any kind of pace.

EDIT - Oh Massa you lucky boy

As long as there are cars out on the track, track will get hotter and the water will go away quicker. So drivers of second tier cars such as Vergne could possibly get P1 until the track gets hotter and drier.

McLaren not quite as awful on inters.

Guittierez very lucky to be okay there, major crash.
