The F1 Thread 2012 Season

Watching FP1, the McLaren sounds very raspy like it has some kind of off throttle blowing a bit like the Red Bull sounds. I mean nobody has confirmed it but Red Bull has sounded raspy for a few races, wonder if McLaren have cottoned on to what they have going.

I was watching the second practice earlier and the girl in the pit lane was interviewing the Force India reserve driver only to interrupt him because of some stupid radio message from Massa's car.

The radio messages drive me mad. Some are interesting but we don't need to hear so many of them and they are not important enough to cut off an interview for, especially during practice

Whilst Vettel was quickest in FP2.

I've just realised I'll have to get up in 5 hours to watch quali :(

Vettel is already on pole basically and unless Hamilton starts alongside him, then you can be certain he will win the race as well.

Hamilton brings a lot of baggage to the team that's signing him, who knows how tolerant they might be of it as compared to Mclaren. And it's not uncommon for teams to have a divide among their team for the drivers, if Hamilton doesn't get on their good side fast, they might just decide to concentrate on Rosberg instead.

All of the above doesn't mean that Rosberg would finish above Hamilton? You're not actually talking about anything about ability here, just the usual lines issued by the media of Hamilton's 'issues'. Bring something to discussion that actually is worthwhile as opposed to reading the headlines & concocting some analysis.

Trust me, Hamilton will flourish more in Mercedes than McLaren, simply because they have a team principle who knows what it takes to win & isn't spineless. Understands when the team has a chance to win something & will back it all the way. Something Whitmarsh still doesnt get.

Vettel needs to clear him early tomorrow.

This will be interesting tomorrow, of how the dynamics of this race changes.

On one hand you'll have Webber looking to help Seb by potentially holding up Lewis, and on the other you have Webber's first lap slow antics in Japan in which you could see Hamilton just slipstream him down into turn 3.

I don't know why we're discussing this; Grosjean will take them all out on the first corner anyway, and any surviving stragglers will be dispatched by Maldonado.

Think the Ferraris will be bloody fast tomorrow. Their average long run pace was better than anyone else's on Friday (Massa too for the record). Should be a great race with all the big hitters right at the front.

:lol::lol:

The sad thing is that this probably will happen. How the hell did they get F1 drives?

Grosjean appears to be quick enough, just not sure he will ever be smart enough.

Perfect for Red Bull, almost as if they planned the start with Webber conceding to Vettel and then protecting him from Alonso/Hamilton.

"I've just been hit by Kobayashi. What an idiot!"

I know it comes down to set up but wish we could see more competitive racing at the front of these races. Get tired of seeing P1 pulling out these big leads.
