Sebastian Vettel to join Ferrari in 2014, but Massa remains for 2013

Double world champion Sebastian Vettel is set to join Ferrari in 2014, with Felipe Massa staying at the Italian team for 2013.
Sources inside Ferrari say they have signed a contract with Vettel, 25, with an option to join in 2014 depending on their results. The contract is likely to define a position Ferrari must occupy in the title race at a point in 2013.
Vettel's potential arrival at Ferrari has been sanctioned by Fernando Alonso.
The Spaniard, 31, has a say in the identity of his team-mate and vetoed the idea of Lewis Hamilton joining the team earlier this year.
Alonso won the world title in 2005 and 2006 when at Renault but hasn't finished higher than second with Ferrari.
Red Bull driver Vettel currently leads the world championship by six points from Alonso, having won the title in 2010 and 2011.
Should it transpire, the line-up would undoubtedly be the strongest in F1 - with potential for huge friction.
Vettel and Red Bull have denied the German has any arrangements in place with Ferrari, and the team insist he is under contract until the end of 2014.
However, Red Bull adviser Dr Helmut Marko - the right-hand man of the company's boss Dietrich Mateschitz - has already said the contract contains performance clauses and if Vettel wants to leave, Red Bull could not make him stay.
Hamilton has recently signed a three-year deal to join Mercedes, Alonso is under contract to Ferrari until the end of 2016 and Jenson Button is under contract to McLaren until the end of 2014.

Montezemolo denies Vettel rumours
ESPN Staff
October 15, 2012
Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has denied reports that Sebastian Vettel will join the team at the end of 2013.
Felipe Massa is expected to sign a one-year deal to remain with Ferrari next season, with a BBC report stating that he is a stop-gap before Vettel joins the following season. While rumours that Vettel has a pre-contract agreement with Ferrari have been ongoing for a number of months, the fact that Ferrari allowed Sergio Perez to join McLaren only added to the speculation.
Vettel is under contract until the end of 2014, however, and although Helmut Marko has previously revealed there are performance-related clauses that would allow him to leave, di Montezemolo says he wants a clear number one and number two driver line-up.
"I've always said that I don't want two roosters in the hen-house," Montezemolo told Italy's Radio1 I don't like that and it creates instability in the team."

What a waste of a seat for another season at ferrari.
Because like Schumi he's an uncompromising winner.
You make it sound like it's a bad thing as a race car driver.
I saw that a week or so ago, brilliant. Seb is a great character, I'll never get the hate for him.

You just want me to suffer watching Vettel dominate whilst Webber scrambles around at the start then proceeds to hold everyone up just before Hamilton's gearbox goes puff, Button falls back 10 places with balance issues, Alonso cruises to a championship losing 3rd after Massa gives him it by going to sleep on the prime tyre as Maldonado crashes into Grosjean who is already crashing into Raikkonen who was slow because it wasn't warm enough as Vettel wins by a minute and Christian Horners teeth snaggle through my TV set causing me to rage and not enjoy my Sunday dinner.
feck you Rado_N, Nick whatever you go by these days.
