The F1 Thread 2012 Season

Doesn't look like we'll get a different winner tomorrow. Well hopefully Kimi or Grosjean can do something.

Lotus will be in there, over a lap they are still a bit off but race runs they are one of the best. Hell Grosjean could have won Canada on a 1 stopper had he not been held up in his first stint.

Just seen this Lee McKenzie from the BBC to Jenson Button: "It's a long old race here and lots can happen". Button: "No, not really. We're in Valencia. Not a lot happens"

Jenson just apologized on Twitter, he doesn't need to he's right.

Q2 today was maybe the best I have seen , Q was a bit of a let down but WOW what a stunning lap from The Finger.
Valenca is a boring race sometime, should be a good race Vettel and Lewis fighting it out with Kimi and Grosjean pressing them.
Dont see either of the Ferraris bothering the front.

^ I disagree, I think Alonso may be in with a chance of a podium, or very good points at least. He will all but certainly start on the harder compound tyre whilst virtually all the drivers in front of him will be on the soft (that which they qualified on), which will degrade very quickly in the heat and abrasive conditions. He'll probably go hard-hard-soft on the tyres which means he'd run the softer tyre for the least amount of time and thereby be punished the least when running it. Massa's been very close to him on lap time too so don't discount him following through. An error-free race from him would certainly be a surprise though.

Gotta hand it to Vettel though; you can't deny he's bloody quick and bloody effective over one lap. Pleased to see the Lotuses doing well too, particularly Grosjean. Button again looks like he may struggle this weekend and I hope for his sake he doesn't.

Just watching Inside F1 on the BBC, Bernie was on there and some interesting stuff from him. In talks about a grand prix in London, he is unconvinced New Jersey will go ahead next year saying he does not think that they will have everything ready to the expected standard they want, apparently the planned track has speed bumps all over the place he says he needs to have another look and evaluate it again.

Button clearly fuming at the moment, I cant see him doing well today, he is just too hot headed at the moment but you never know, it was so close in qualy yesterday during Q2. Vettel is a cnut. Massa is shit.

NJ looks like it is just another race which is all about the money for F1

Lee Mckenzie in th car with seb, "let's do something illegal, can we do something illegal"

Bernie talking about NJ definately not being ready then changing his mind, classic Bernie bullying/negotiating.

Bernie gonna Bernie.

Bernie be rollin just like Bernie can, good old troll face as he did that interview deep down.

Timo's team holding up a get well soon sign...fecksake it's a stomach bug...

DC asks the camera man if there is anything he wants to check out and the camera immediately moves towards the grid girl

Button gets shoved down the grid, cue another horrific afternoon.

feck look at the gap now between Hamilton and the finger.

They better hope this Silverstone update is good, though I don't hold much hope for it because traditionally every time McLaren strap a home race update on they end up worse than where they started.
