The F1 Thread 2012 Season

Vettel will be blaming the ref before long.

Kimi is the best driver on the grid for fair racing.

Obviously Alonso has done well in a poor car, but a lot of credit has to go to Raikkonen for what he's done in the Lotus this season as well.

It's what annoys me with Vettel. I don't dislike him too much, but he's winning because of his car. Put Raikkonen or Alonso in that car and they'd have probably wrapped it up weeks ago. He's one of the best drivers full stop is Raikkonen.

It would be amusing if Vettel gets close to Hamilton and tries to overtake aggressively because he's pissed off and crashes.

It annoys me that Brundle & Croft can't look at the sector splits and realise the Red Bull is faster at the end of the lap whilst McLaren faster at the beginning.

Hamilton will have to watch out for the McLaren sniper that's now in place.

If Lewis had of had better luck, he would of been closer than what he is.
Bad pit stops and broken cars have cost him badly this season.

Yep, he's another who'd have been in with a better chance in a better car or with a more competent crew. For all of Red Bull's speed, if the points were on qualifying he'd have been near the title if not at the top of the pile.

Would've walked the title had he been in the Red Bull with their roles reversed. Same for a few of them actually.

That's why I don't understand, what is the point of Mark Webber? He has the best car on the grid and continually fails to get even close to Vettel whereas guys like Raikonnen, and Alonso consistently outrace him in cars that shouldn't even be near his Red Bull.

He's been great this year. Really unlucky with all the blunders.

In all fairness Webber was at the top a couple of years ago at one point when he was given inferior parts, which is probably the case most of the time, but I see what you mean. Still, perhaps it's better to do that than have someone like Alonso there. Two big egos, ala Hamilton/Alonso at McLaren, can often clash. Webber will just be happy to have a place at a team like Red Bull so won't moan; therefore he's a decent choice for them.

Yep. I have Alonso as the best driver and Hamilton 2nd. Vettel is at best 3rd.

I wouldn't even have him in 3rd to be honest. Raikkonen deserves a lot of praise as well for what he's done with an often middle of the road team.

Great race and thank God for Hamilton. Now it's time to pray to every god I know that Grosjean, Maldonado and Co do what needs to be done to Mr Vettel in Brazil.

I have to admit that Vettel has done very well after a bad start to the season, but much is down to the car.

To be honest, in that car he really should've been walking it from the very start. He was very good in 2011, but in the two other title winnings year the likes of Alonso can feel justifiably annoyed at his advantage.

Sorry but this is such crap, Vettel is a fantastic driver and to suggest he's so inferior to other drivers is bullshit. Let's not forget the mass of points he lost to reliability as well.

Amazing drive from Lewis, probably his best to date.

I think mcclaren were faster at the start of the season

I'm not trying to say he's not a good driver, he is certainly, but this car has worked wonders for him. It's speed is just unmatched at the moment.

I can't help but feel we've been robbed somewhat of a titanic three-way battle in Brazil. Hamilton's actually done little wrong this year, the cards just haven't fallen his way. I am shocked that this podium is the first time 'The Big 3'(yes I just made that up) have been the Top 3.

Agreed. He is fantastic at keeping his tires in great condition and seeing out races when he is in the lead, fantastic in qualifying and great at getting away during the start-up as well. I'm not sure about his ability to overtake cars when he isn't in the lead, although he hasn't had much chance to show us that simply because he always leads races from start to finish. I'd love to see what he would do in an inferior car to the Red Bull like a Ferrari or a McLaren

I guess I understand, he is a perfect second driver, doesn't complain and always gives the advantage to the team leader. He should be a lot more competitive though.

Not my fav driver, but I agree he is a fantastic driver and when he wins the title he will of deserved it.
