The F1 Thread 2012 Season

Official now Massa takes 5 place pen. Be interesting to see if Red Bull do same with Webber to put Alonso on dirty side.

I'm sorry but what Webber did in the last race was much worse. He took out a couple of cars which allowed Seb to get on the podium. I see it as only fair that Ferrari retaliate this way.

So you think Webber took the other cars out just to get The Finger a podium, there is something in that. Webber is not normally a reckless driver, the stewards saw nothing wrong with either move or he would of had a penalty.
OK so Ferrari are not cheating, how about bending the rules to suit themselves.

If Red Bull change Webbers gearbox it will put Alonso back on the dirty side, would be hilarious if they did that

Don't see why they would, good chance Webber will be 2nd out of Turn 1 whilst Alonso is still down in 7th and in the pack.

I'm saying that the Red Bull team tried it's absolute best to give Vettel a podium finish in the last race, why can't Ferrari do the same without it being deemed cheating?

Imagine that, eh?

Webber didn't crash intentionally. I seriously doubt he's the type of driver who'd ruin his own race and put himself and others in danger just to give Vettel an advantage.

Don't really think it's cheating from Ferrari but at the same time it's a bit disappointing. It's also shit for other drivers who are now put onto the dirty side of the track.

Red Bull won't do that.

Webber has a genuine chance to beat Alonso and cost him points, so why put him at a disadvatage? Massa won't finish ahead of Vettel.

So they didn't have to even change it, just break the seal lol.

My hatred of the finger is for some reason easing my hatred for Ferrari, come on Alonso!

It's no different in my eyes to changing the set up of the car from the pit lane. Breaking the seal of the gear box is legal, maybe not sporting or morally right but it's definitely legal.

Great. Yet more in-depth interview questions like: "So, Kimi, do you like the red cars or the blue ones? I like the silver ones, I do."

I couldn't care, all i want to see is the race live. There's plenty of streams about!

Yeah, that is the main reason I found the last race's events a bit suspicious.

Yeah, feck off. I remember you from the newbies, you always had this trait of being a dick, not surprising to see you haven't lost it.

I don't remember you at all.

I don't remember you at all.

You were more of a football forum keyboard warrior, I was a lurker.
Anyways, 9 minutes until this starts, I'm hoping Abu Dhabi broadcast this. They showed free practice and qualifying but there isn't the usual build up for the race, weird.

Sky's race commentary and Martin's grid walks are way better than the BBC, but there pre-race is dreadful.

Do you mean in comparison to this years BBC or last years? I thought Legard was pretty awful, but when they replaced him with Coulthard, him and Brundle were very good together. For me Brundle is one of the best commentators in sport

Last year BBC was excellent.
This season BBC pre race is far better than Sky, if I can always have Sky on for the race

I missed the rule change. When did it happen? So no more "need to protect your tyres this lap Felippe - wink wink nudge nudge"

I think it was changed in 2011? The earliest I can remember is at Silverstone when Webber was told to maintain the gap with Vettel.
