The F1 Thread 2011 Season

Completely weird question, does anyone know if it is on terrestrial in Italy? Im there for German grandprix and wanna be watching it

It's on RAI which is government owned so I would assume thats terrestrial.

watching seb on top gear and i cant stop laughing,

he is really funny and likeable in interviews and stuff but on the track i hate him :(

whats with this whole "look but never stare" thing that brundle says at the start of the race, heard it a few times this season, when is murray walker on??

If you stare at the lights, you wait until they're red. If you look as soon as the colour changes, you smash the throttle. I'm great at starts in iracing 'proper simulator' because I follow this principle.

Err he didn't, you don't have the position just because you enter the corner first on the outside.

Well shit, then I don't know what 'having position' is then. If I'm into the corner first whether outside or inside, then I have position. And Lewis knew he was coming. Massa was past him and Lewis flatly refused to let him through. I won't blame Lewis though, Mclaren's fault for fecking up his fuel situation.

Context. If racing was about getting to the corner first no matter what then every weekend of racing no matter what sport would have incidents like this. If your on the outside, you brake later and the guy is still alongside you braking as hard as he can you cannot turn in as if he isn't there.

In this particular incident both drivers braked as late as they could, they were bound to make contact, its a racing incident.

I don't follow. Do you mean they should look out of their peripheral vision as this somehow speeds up reaction times?

If you focus too intensely on the lights, you won't launch as fast. You're so focused on making sure the light has changed colour that you forget you're suppose to be launch as well. It's a matter of losing tenths but in cars that launch from 0-120 in 4 seconds, that could be 10 mph difference.

McLaren nowhere again is dissapointing, race pace they will be up there but they have fallen behind in the development race.

Personell issue in the aero department i would say, they used to be the best in the development race.
