nice grip seb, now go on then, have a shag if you want to be an honorary welshman. :D

You guys wouldn't believe some of the undulation changes on that Bathrust track. Even in a road car at normal speeds you ponder, how! Its mind boggling to think just how scary that track would be in a current F1 car. You pretty much ride the brakes from the top to the bottom of the mountain and thats at 60kmh!

Can't wait for the weekend. But I still think these extra practice sessions they introduced and are telecasting of late these past few seasons are rubbish. Why can't they just do the simple qualifying session on Saturday and the race on Sunday.

its getting closer, cant wait for another season to get going

i need to work out my time zones now, i am right in saying qualifying coverage starts at 5am UK time right? and the race on sunday is 6am?

Australian Grand Prix

Albert Park, Melbourne, 25-27 March

Friday 25 March: Practice one - 0130-0300; Practice two - 0530-0700

Saturday 26 March: Practice three - 0300-0400; Qualifying - 0600-0700

Sunday 27 March: Race - 0700

I'd assume coverage will start roughly an hour beforehand, but don't know for sure.

Come on!!!

okay, i think i will avoid quali and then watch the replay of it in the afternoon, will avoid the results and all that in the morning, then i will watch the race live on sunday morning, i might watch P1 too

Just go to the F1 website and you can see the listings for your timezones.

I'm looking forward to the qualifying strategies.

I reckon those who qualify on the harder tyres will qualify lower but have an advantage of being able to get 7-8 more laps than the guys on softer tyres.

The top teams will probably still opt for the softs in qualy to get the grid slot. But after that its anyone's guess.

Alonso reckons Pole position won't be as big of an issue this season.

Ah feck yea I forgot about HD, get in!

No chance I'll be staying up for FP1 though, I'm calling it a night imminently, can't wait for quali though!

You're all fecking soft. I stayed up until 4.30 to watch Australia lose to India and then had to get up at 8.30!

At least you slept. Since I m in the States, the game started at 2am and I still have not slept for more than 30 hours now.

How dare you. I have driven 200 miles today, got home at 6pm then did a full length online sim race (geeeeeek) and I'm still awake now all after getting up at 8am.

A mere 6 minutes to go, excellent. Mon the Macs.

That McLaren exhaust sounds like its doing some off throttle business.

Interesting enough. The Bull's are fast over a lap as expected, Ferrari looks good and McLaren are nowhere near as bad as some people were making out. Most interesting but was seeing the massive chunk of rubber missing in Vettel's fronts after about 8 laps.

Real men like me. Some of you should take a long hard look at the examples we give. fecking skirts.

McLaren fastest in P2, i hear there are some eyebrows being raised of the amount of tyre wear on the red bulls compared to others, is there a big difference between them and the other teams or is it not as bad as some people are making out?

Check out the highlights video from the BBC of P1, there's a shot of Vettel's tyre with chunks missing. I don't know what compound there were or the laps done on them but there looked like a lot of degradation.

i cant look at the highlights because im back in ireland this week and it keeps telling me that the content is not available in my area:(

Fecking foreigners trying to poach our tv!

I'm worried about the tyres, I hope them falling apart doesn't end up deciding the race.

They aren't falling apart FFS. During practice both Charlie Whiting and Christian Horner said they were surprised at how the tyres were lasting.

As ever everyone in F1 loves a good moan and the actual situation isn't as bad as they say. Take Mclaren for instance.

No, these tyre's are terrible, they are surprised they were lasting 8 laps, that tells you how bad they are.

Also Mclaren was a bluff, it's been blatant for a while.

They arn't that bad, they will do 15-20 lap stints but they have to take care of them or they fall to bits. I think its great, most people moaned when they went for ever last season now this actually brings abit of excitement back into the tyre wear.

Maybe not as bad as first thought for now but the Australian track is not typical for the season, not to mention that the degradation is still a hell of a lot worse than previous seasons. We're looking at three stops every race if not more, and when we get to other tracks it's going to be a shit load worse. Canada, for example, could be disaster.
