The F1 Thread 2010 Season

Bugger off!

After a 1-2-3 for me this weekend, and already being top, I am crowned the F1 fantasy champion

My prize is to tell Marchi that he's a chump, and he can stick his fecking Schumacher up his arse (and I bet he's probably doubt a doll figure of his hero and tried that already)

Finally back up, and confirmation I had an absolute stonker of a week, 850 points!

Cal is creeping up the standings to make it a three way contest mind. Ezee leads those who opted for the inferior tactic of spending less money up front! :)

Slowly turning around for me, I just need Kobayashi to pull his finger out and Sutil to start scoring regular. I think Alonso might step up his attack soon too if the Ferrari "Red Bull" exhausts work as expected, same for McLaren when Silverstone arrives

They reckon they are worth atleast half a second, be surprised if that is the case but should improve them atleast.

I see Button sued Mercedes to get one of last season's BrawnGP cars

Saw that:

"Racing for Brawn GP in 2009, Button had it written in his contract that should he win the title he would receive a BGP001. However, even though he did claim the crown, Brawn, by then owned by Mercedes-Benz, refused to hand over the car, wanting instead to give him a replica."

Can't argue really, was pre agreed, shame it took the threat of legal action but eventually the contract was honoured

Will be interesting to see the improvement when they come for both cars. I think you've got to favour Hamilton for the championship now, or at the very least he or Button, simply because of how excellent McLaren's development is.

Yeh, seemed the issue was they said they had none left, so offered to make him a new one, but good that it got sorted

If its in the contract its only what he deserved, I know its hardly much but he did waiver alot of what he would have earned and I know more than a few drivers that would not have done it or stuck with them.

I think the development race is well and truly on and I think Ferrari and McLaren have the highest scope for improvement. The integration of the diffuser and the exhausts is quite an important area, its essentially drag free extra downforce which is premium and you gotta figure where McLaren & to a lesser extent Ferrari are without it, if it works they might pull ahead. Ofcourse Red Bull might get the F-Duct working but its not as big as the DD/exhausts.

Pirelli has been confirmed as Formula 1’s sole tyre supplier for the next three seasons, following a meeting of governing body the FIA’s World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) in Geneva on Wednesday.

With Bridgestone set to leave the sport at the end of the current season, having been the only tyre company involved in F1 since the start of 2007, talks between teams narrowed the final choice down to Pirelli and France’s Michelin – last involved in 2006 – although a final decision has been delayed for some weeks.

However, the FIA has now decided to select what was incidentally believed to be the preferred choice for most teams, as Pirelli prepares to return after last winning with Nélson Piquet and Benetton at the 1991 Canadian Grand Prix.

The following FIA statement also suggests that the Paris-based federation is hoping to ensure that varying compounds will be used in all races in order to spice up the show:

‘Pirelli has been selected as the single tyre supplier for the FIA Formula One World Championship for a period of three years, commencing in 2011.

The sole supplier will undertake to strictly respect the sporting and technical regulations implemented by the FIA.’

Pirelli then, sound like they want to add some spice to the racing by splitting the compounds.

schumi cutting it fecking close there! i heard there may be power steering problems on the car?

As expected Red Bull still the car to beat over one lap. McLaren and Ferrari should match their race pace though which should provide a semi-decent race on a rather poor track.

If by character you mean being an annoying twat then yes.

I dont mean it ;)

Back to todays race, i think we'll see a safety car in some respect. 25 turns leaves a lot of opportunities for overtaking and i'm sure someone will feck up.

Hamilton saying vettel hit him, I'm sorry but when Hamilton is behind it means he hit vettel.

'Vettel hit me' seems to be suggesting blame to me, but ok I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

This track is awful.

Unbelievable webber walked away from that, lucky, lucky man.
