The F1 Thread 2010 Season

After watching that lap onboard im calling it the best pole so far this season, mega lap, the final chicane was out of this world.

I was on the final straight when Hamilton dialled that lap in :D Loud cheer from me and quite a few people around me.

There's feck loads of Red Bull fans though. Huge cheer when Vettell made it a 1-2 on the grid, before Hamilton crossed the line, and loads of caps and shirts. Where the feck have they all come from?

Do you really need to ask? Same reason there were thousands of red caps in the Schumacher era, Renault blue, then Vodafone red when Hamilton turned up then Brawn white last season.

Could go either way, small chance of rain would change everything but its only small. Red Bull's are gonna have to do quite a long stint on the primes from the start but also likely to have to do quite alot of laps on the softs too so depending on how well the hard holds up they might need to 2 stop.

Ideally I think you start on the soft and run it as long as possible, the Red Bull's have taken a gamble on how long they can last on the hards without losing time, if they get to half distance and the hards start to waiver then they are in deep shit.

Are you enjoying Montreal, mate?

Place is rocking tonight.

do we still have a chance of rain today? wondering how many times we may see a safety car out there today!

I'll support anyone from Britain in the F1, regardless of team really.

This year of course i'm a mclaren fan because Lewis and Jenson both drive for them. Aside from that, I have no real loyalty for any team.

im a button fan, will support him whoever he drives for. i dont have a loyalty to any team either

Will be interesting

It seems like the McLarens are hoping for a safety car, so they could be going a long long way on the harder tyres

Surely two stop is going to be the order of the day

Gearbox change for Webber, drops 5 places I believe I'm right in saying, so from second to seventh

Yeh, gearbox is 5 places

Wonder what difference that will make to him, clearly he can't beat Vettel unless something happens, weather/crash/etc, but he should be able to bring himself right back into the podium hunt if he can get some clear air and really hammer the fast laps when those with the softer tyres pit

Hmmm...want to watch this race, but don't want to be an unsociable bastard and have my sunday roast in a different room

im having sunday roast while watching this, its just the right thing to do on a sunday

One of the few tracks on the that doesn't need rain to be exciting, im intrigued to see how they get on with the softs and how the strategy split might change the outcome. I wouldn't even say Webber is out of it from 7th simply because we just dont know how the softs will last.

Yeh was alluding to the same myself, but it just means that on the same tyres, he's got to expect to finish behind Vettel now, unless as I said above, something happens

hamilton and alonso nearly take each other out in the pits

the tyre strategy here so far is excellent
