The F1 Thread 2010 Season

Eddie Jordan is generally a bit of a numpty, and he let slip his secret love for Vettel when admitting he thinks he's gorgeous

yeah maybe so , but cant blame him for trying to pass Webber he saw the gap and went for it , Webber would of done the same

I'm not having a go at Vettel, was being sarcastic, but the door swings both ways. Webber should have given more room even if it were a meter or two, vettel was far enough past. Its now cost him and Vettel 1st and 2nd place.

Watch the Australian media love in fecking blast Vettel and act as if Webber did nothing wrong. You're team mates, you give each other room. Vettel did not spear right he slightly moved right.

I agree it would be unfair to blame Vettel 100%

yes I agree , but Eddie Jorden said there was a case for Webber letting him pass, what do you think ?

And what case is that? Because Vettel is 'gorgeous'?

They're racing. I'm not Webber's biggest fan, but he left Vettel enough room there, and if Vettel couldn't pull the overtake off, it's up to him to back out. You can't just turn into your team mate and expect him to pull out of the way for you

He's 100% at fault there

Great 1-2 for Hamilton and Button, this race looks like the fight back is on. The Red Bull's and Mclaren's on race pace look close, Red Bull still faster in the high speed stuff but McLaren look like they have dealt with some traction problems.

Great race, i think Turkey's circuit is criminally underrated. Fantastic result for McLaren and well deserved for Hamilton, drove an excellent race.

But they're team mates Brad and Webber's inability to admit defeat just lost them the race.

Vettel was far enough past.

You saw the onboard footage as clear as I did. Vettel did not drive over. He slightly veered. Given how much that car moved, you'd expect Webber to give a bit more room then he did and he damn well could have.

Vettel's fault.

He had enough room, both cars were driving straight and he was the one who moved. Small mistake, but it was catastrophic for him. Anyone who defends Vettel is a complete gimp.

You can argue all you want about being past enough (which he wasn't), but for racing purists, Webber made no mistake. He is not obligated to let Vettel through just because he's his team mate unless he has a mechanical problem.

But he wasn't defeated

And we all saw the same footage

Webber gave Vettel all the room he needed. If Vettel couldn't make it stick, he should have pulled out of it

Deluded. He was leading the race & doing everything to retain the lead. He didn't have to give any room at all. Vettel was adamant he needed to be on the racing line for the next corner & decided to force Webber over.

The issue is more of him as a team player, this incident just highlights some arrogance underneath Vettel which Mark Webber has revealed simply by out performing him.

who's defending Vettel ? everybody has said it was Vettels fault , but I was just not sure he was 100% to blame

You're a complete joke.

From a racing driver, who raced several season in British F3 that I know quite well.

All good fun! Great to watch. Vettel was too sudden in his movement in my mind, but it could of been done better by both of them. Vettel just seems too desperate, the rest of the year is shaping up well :)

Get fecked arsehole. I never said Vettel is not to blame, but the blame doesn't lye 100% with him.

Why should a driver that had 3/4's of his car infront pull out. Webber had the chance to take the racing line but kept his car there.

It's called racing, if a car is ahead you make it as hard as possible for him to make it stick. Webber knew by keeping Vettel as far inside as possible he would make it hard for Vettel to get into the corner and hold the spot, he did absolutely nothing wrong.
