how can he triple block when Lewis was half a car length ahead of him. He just had the inside lane and took the racing line to the corner.

They are being retarded. Lewis had pulled up parallel to the Ferrari of Alonso and was edging ahead of him. But Alonso had the inside racing line into that corner and took it.
There was no way for Alonso to triple block when Lewis is parallel/ahead of him.
