The F1 Thread 2009 Season

Well it doesn't matter for Hamilton....was a definite yellow flags which means if he posted a faster time than he has allready done he would have been punished for it.

They've changed their story now, underbreaking.

I was right.

:D

You might be you might not......calling a driver a dick for having a fairly major accident is pretty low just because it happened to ruin Lewis's lap.

Nobody knows whether it was a car failure or not

the car is awful to drive for hamilton, just no speed at all.

Calm down!

I only said it once I knew he was alive...

Just to add something to the shenanigans that's going on atm, it's a shame that it has come to this but I think the FIA had it coming with their mindless rule changing season after season. They can't seem to make up their minds and end up having wholesale rule changes year on year and that has ruined F1 for me. Their aim was to cut costs this year then why have they introduced KERS which hasn't been working anyway with the teams using it having teething problems.

FIA should go back to the basics and make F1 what it was, the pinnacle of the motorsport with the latest technological innovations and such instead of trying to limit the cars as much as possible, hell they even tried to make them have motorcycle sized engines. Maybe a split with all the big teams wouldn't be a bad thing, or at least this would have woken the FIA up and get rid of Mosley who's been ruining the sport for far too long.

Fair enough Manx

There was mention of Force India having a load of new parts here for this GP but not having the chance to test any of it dues to in season testing.

Given the FIA's tendency for more and more safety then getting rid of testing wasn't exactly the best idea.

They've certainly made it hard for people to stay interested in F1 the last few years with a torrent of rule changes, myself included....I certainly wont be sad to see a breakaway series next season

That redbull looks like its on rails atm....Can't see anyone else getting pole

Red Bull's pole today, just a case of Webber or Vettel. The Brawn doesnt seem to like the harder tyres here, it will be better in the race of that you can be sure but I dont think anyone will touch the Red Bull's today or tomorrow.

Right I'm off to this tommorow (or today, depending how you look at it) I intend to get very drunk.

Alonso not fit to be even stand next to Eric in my humble opinion

Well at the least there will be a British GP next year even if Donnington fails to get together.

I'd be suprised if a compromise wasn't worked out because breakaways usually result in less than the sum of their parts. Not that many seem to care these days barring the petrol heads of course.

Yep, boring as feck...The after party was hilariously bland as well...Eddie Jordans band doing covers..Some bloke EJ's daughter had pulled once...doing covers and the Rolling stones!!....Tribute band!!...

It was also the closest thing to a BNP rally I've ever been too...they couldn't get through an interview without whirling nationalist rhetoric and Vettel had to be amazingly gracious and self deprecating to avoid being boo'd just for being German...The presenters also missed the crucial point of campaigning that if you ram your point down peoples throat they'll eventually get bored of it...Mention it once or twice and you'll get them on your side.

All in all though it was a good day out...I love the fact they have an after party and open up the track after the race...At least you get your moneys worth

Even if it is a crap race, if you're actually there, it's a magnificent experience. An exciting race is just the icing on the cake. I was lucky enough to go last year, got piss wet through, but it was a great watch and brilliant to cheer a British driver to victory

Yeah it's a brilliant day out...Very fun indeed. It's like a little festival..Donnigton has a lot to live up to. The air horns drove me fecking mad though
