The F1 Thread 2009 Season

Given up on this race, so fecking boring.

KERS is ruining this championship, today is just another example of it. A really exciting battle at the front, ruined by a KERS car (Massa and Kovaleinen) jumping a load of places at the start because of the boost off the line and then just holding everyone up for lap after lap after lap. You can't even overtake them, because on the overtaking zones they just use the KERS to stay ahead.

Fair play to Webber, though. I can't stand the bloke and he rightfully got a drive-through, but if he can do the drive-through and still win then you've got to say he deserves it.

And Raikonnen has taken out Sutil again when the German is in a really good position. Poor bloke can't get any luck, and if Raikonnen doesn't want to be here that much then why doesn't he just feck off and stop bollocking about with other people's races?

I agree about the KERS, having 2 teams run it essentially spoils the racing for the rest simply because they are moving obstacles for everyone else, Button did well to get past Massa at the start.

Glad its going for next season, artificial racing.

Have you ever seen a car that needs to weave in a race on a consistent basis like the Brawn? If the weather starts picking up they are close to the Red Bull's I think, the cold temperatures mask the Brawns ultimate performance.

Well lets be honest Rubens lead this race and he is going to end up 6th with no real issues other than a slow 2nd stop which wouldnt have lost him a position anyway, he is the number 2 driver now, he has to be because of the rate of Red Bull's car.

Christ I hate Mark Webber, Aussie cnut. Still, he won fair and square.

I think the Brawn's have been somewhat found out. They got a massive boost at the start of the season because they had that diffuser that no one else did, but now all the other teams have copied it their advantage is gone - and their car isn't actually all that special, unlike the Red Bull.

This championship is still Vettel's, though (even if he did cost me a tenner ).

Rubens acting a twat, you dont talk about your team like that. Get him out and stick Anthony Davidson in there.

To be fair to him the team utterly fecked him around. Brought him in for a pit stop meaning he came out behind a KERS car, fecked up his refueling so any chance of a podium he did have was lost and then brought him in before Button blatantly so that Button would get the position.

I'd be pissed off, too, considering the team *supposedly* don't have a number one. It's not the first time this has happened, either.

Well he had to pit on that lap because he would have run out of fuel, he simply did not gap the pack enough when he had the chance, his fault. Re-fueling rig packed up, mechanincal fault. Button passed him, only thing they can do under the circumstances, Rubens is now 4th in the standings he will be No.2 from now on if they want to win the WDC.

Funny how its always Rubens though aint it, mainly because he doesnt get the job done nearly enough.

Decent race today, better than some recent processions

Agreed on the KERS, time to feck it off. What was the point in setting up the cars for more overtaking, if you bring in something which makes it more impossible than ever before to get past?!

Rubens is turning into the Tevez of the F1 world, grumpy in his old age. Supposed to be a nice guy too

I don't really know. I think it's that I'm not a massive fan of Red Bull in general, ever since their bitch-fest at the start of the season. He was also quite unpleasant about Coulthard, whom I have a soft spot for.

Mostly though it's because I'm a fickle cnut. I went right off Hamilton when he was winning stuff and now I really like him again. The fact that Webber tried to take out two of my favourite drivers right at the start didn't raise him in my estimation, but I suspect what I think of him couldn't rank as any less important in his thoughts. I'll still give credit where it's due, and he won today's race absolutely fair and square - a very, very good performance.

Not too far off, they have woolly creatures in common

Woolly creatures they like to have sex with

Oit, you. You stick with your stunning Swedish blondes and I'll stick with my ever-dependable ovine friends.

Just watching the practice for the next GP and Hamilton is the fastest.
Looks like his car has been improved a bit from the last race , maybe have a podium finnish this weekend?

EDIT: Just has I post he is in second now.

Its the same car from the previous race, its just we didn't see much of it as he bailed at the first corner in the last race. Plus the heat in Hungary suits the tyres a hell of a lot better. I'd expect to see at a McLaren in the top 5 tomorrow, maybe top 3

No supposedly it has further updates even from the previous GP

I never saw a reply but after the race Webber said he'd made contact with Hamilton. Looked to me at first he just dumped it?

This is all good news for Button really. His car isn't the stand out anymore, but if the top teams are returning to speed, might limit how many points his only championship challengers, the Red Bulls, can pick up

Sorry yeah, i've just read the same.

He overshot the first corner & cutting back into the pack caused contact with someones front wing & got himself a puncture

Button will enjoy this weekend more than the past two, mainly because the Brawn car works better in the heat. It'll be a close run thing this weekend i think, close to call. Hopefully it'll be a spectacle of a race as opposed to one car just racing away with it.

 Shambles.

Button: I did a 22.5, what did you do?
Alonso: 21.5
Button: Really? fecking Hell!
