The F1 Thread 2009 Season

Three GP's in and I think I have fallen in love with F1 again.

I agree with that so much great racing, so much controversy and there is still its only been 3 races (or more 2 and a half).

Got to say though I think Jake(don't know his second name) has done a good job when he got annouced allot of people didn't like him but hes done ok.

What the hell is going on with practice 2?

16 Poland R Kubica BMW Sauber
17 Brazil F Massa Ferrari
18 Finland K Raikkonen Ferrari
19 Finland H Kovalainen McLaren
20 Germany N Heidfeld BMW Sauber

(not finished yet)

Ferrari look way off, not sure on the fuel levels but they don't look good.

Force India looks decent with some new bits on it, but a battle between the Brawn's, Toyota's and Red Bull's again.

Yeah I forgot about Alonso, not so good on the long runs but I reckon they might shortfill him again.

whats all this about austin martin might enter f1?

Yeah I read that wasn't it Prodrive to start with then Prodrive bought Aston Martin. I heard that Lola could back in F1 says on Autosport 8 new teams want to join F1.

"AUTOSPORT understands that Lola is one of eight new teams that have entered into discussions with Cosworth for a supply of V8 engines for 2010, and that it could face competition for the available grid slots from a number of other prospective teams, including the USF1 project."

I say we get these USF1 chaps in first so they can bring this with them

Few bets for the weekend.
Rosberg to get pole @ 16/1
Glock to get pole @ 24/1
Hamilton podium @ 4/1
Sutil podium @ 130/1
Kovalinen race victory @ 140/1

Glock win @ 30/1
Trulli pole @ 12/1

I reckon it will be a good week for Toyota

Me too, I reckon thats good odds on Glock, might be worth a look. That pre-season test they did here is only gonna help them, all depends on the pace of the Brawn's really.

Jaysus I love you Eddie Jordan like an Uncle, but Gascoigne offers so much more

Sutil, Buemi, Fisichella, Webber and Bourdais are out

Webber is appealing saying he was blocked

I'll wait until we see the fuel weights but based on Quali I think we can assume a few things:

- Overtaking, Webber down in 19th, Big long run into a perfect overtaking zone in T1, KERS boost for McLaren.
- Brake Problems
- I think one of four drivers can win tomorrow, Trulli, Glock, Vettel and Button

Brawn looked to have lost that advantage they had but their single lap pace is not relative to their long run pace and tyre wear will be key, I still think Button has a chance if he looks after the tyres.

Hamilton did a great job and T1 is gonna be interesting if he gets away well with the KERS.

Ferrari considerably heavier than the rest of the top 10...
Cars use around 2.6 kilos of fuel per lap at Sakhir, so around 6-8 more laps for ferrari before first stop, which won't help them much, they'll be too far behind.

Hamilton looking good, on par with Honda, which is surprising. Good progress for Mclaren.

I have put a tenner on Vettel and a couple of quid on Hamilton - they looked inspired yesterday.
