The F1 Thread 2009 Season

how many cars will go off in first proper lap?

im thinking 4 including both force india's and probably Piqeut jr, maybe Kovalainen

So just to be clear then, the weather hasn't actually changed, the rain hasn't eased off or anything...

What was the point of 10 laps behind the safety car?

F1 makes me a right misery guts at times! Only English cricket hacks me off more

I love watching Lewis in the wet, he's the fecking man in these conditions, one of the best.

exactly brad, start under safety car, definitely, but did it really need more than 1 lap? No chance

Buemi does Kimi

Hamilton has a problem with his car or has gone off and lost lots of positions

Lewis up to 4th.

Edit: Takes Kimi round the outside, brilliant move.

Well done Vettel. Red Bull ripped the piss today, Button was 44 seconds back in 3rd

Dunno what happened to Hamilton, wasn't the same after that last stop, had been pretty racy in a heavily fuelled car before that. Those spins didn't help!

Great win for Red Bull, that car is so much better than everyone else in the wet its unreal, you can see it in the fast corners it is hooked up. Excellent from both Vettel and Webber.

Hamilton  One of those days, he was fast but ultimately the car wasn't up to it and overdrived it again. Gutted for Sutil though.

Fantastic drive from Vettel again...if he were in a McLaren or a Ferrari last season, he would have won the championship. Its time Ferrari and McLaren reconsidered whether Kimi, Heiki should still be driving for them next season.

I don't disagree but statements like that get on my nerves, nobody knows what anyone could have done in a season gone by. But I do agree that Vettel is destined for stardom and that team might be with Red Bull this season, if it rains you can gurantee that they will be up there and they are not far off in the dry so I reckon its Brawn/Red Bull championship battle with maybe Toyota weighing in.

I have no doubt McLaren, BMW and Renault will improve this season, maybe enough to battle at the front by season end but too late for the big battle.

Oh an yeah I'm gonna make a prediction, Piquet Jr will be replaced at the start of the European leg, maybe by Bruno Senna.

Some great passes by Lewis, but couldnt keep it on the track, not bad for Mclaren none the less.

Ay, Piquet isn't an F1 driver is he, just can't keep the bloody thing on the track, wet or dry

What a shocker by Ferrari again by the way. We were a few laps away from Force India having more points than them after 3 races. As it is they're tied level on zero

Bloody brilliant drive from Vettel the future looks for bright with Vettel, Lewis and Alonso. Lewis has finished in the points in the first 3 races (I know Lewis had the points taken away in the first race) in a car that is so hard to drive not many drivers could do that.

Good to see Hekki have a solid race, i dont think he is far away from being replaced.

Got to say I hope the BBC keep Mike Gascoigne over Eddie Jordan I really enjoyed his input today.

I agree the coverage is so much better with Gascoigne, actual technical insight that informs the viewer, keep him.

Three GP's in and I think I have fallen in love with F1 again. Just got a Subscription out for F1 Racing after 4 years.

Think its down to BBC, Hamilton, and in general a good bunch of young, hunger drivers and a mix of ego centric old drivers.

Well done Vettel and again 10/10 to BBC for coverage.
