FORMULA ONE team boss Eddie Jordan today reveals he has been the target of a sick hate campaign.

Twisted Grand Prix fanatics sent the Irish father of four e-mails saying they hoped he and his wife Marie and all their children would die.

Others prayed Jordan drivers Nick Heidfeld and rookie Giorgio Pantano will crash during Sunday’s Malaysian Grand Prix or that Jordan’s Silverstone- based team go bankrupt.

The evil bombardment of Jordan, 55, began as he prepared for the opening race of the season in Australia two weeks ago.

The sickening notes began arriving after the entrepreneur snubbed Dutch race ace Jos Verstappen to sign Pantano.

As he spoke out for the first time about the attacks, Jordan, admitted: “I have been absolutely stunned by the menace and vitriol these messages have contained.

“At first I shrugged them off but they became stronger and stronger and I feel it’s time speak out and make the comments public.

“It’s become really unpleasant to think there are people in this world who could even think of sending these dreadful messages just because I didn’t sign a driver.

“I’ve never known anything like it in the 30-odd years I’ve been involved in motor racing.

“Since I signed Pantano, I’ve received hundreds of e-mails ranging from wishing me and my family dead to the team going broke.”

The hate mail was mainly from Dutch fans who see Verstappen — nick-named Jos the Boss — as a hero, even though he has not won an F1 race in 10 years.

Verstappen, 32, is a household name in the Netherlands and has a huge following at many of the European circuits.

And the shock of Holland losing their sole F1 driver was spelled out in one note to Jordan that said: “16 million Dutch people hate you.”

Jordan added: “I really wanted Jos because he has great experience and knows how to bring a car home.

“But his manager asked for sky-high commission and after lengthy talks, enough was enough and I went for Pantano.

“I hope the hate mail ends and Verstappen’s management have said they are trying to calm the situation.”

Malaysia is a tough circuit, but rewards good aero. Therefore I'm looking to Alonso and Trulli to be somewhere up the front this weekend, maybe Trulli for pole, but I always say that.

For the race it depends on the weather and how that effects the tyres. On a hot day, you would expect the Michelins to take it, but on the dreaded wet/dry, you can expect Ferrari to be whole seconds a lap faster.
Watch out for Button too, he goes well here, the car is good, he is in form and on Michelins....a good each way bet.

McLaren-tallin vaikeudet kauden kahdessa ensimmäisessä F1-osakilpailussa ovat johtamassa muutoksiin moottoritoimittaja Mercedes-Benzin johdossa. Saksalaislehti Bildin mukaan moottoriosaston johtaja Werner Laurenz on saanut potkut.

Bild tietää Laurenzin saavan virallisesti lähtöpassit tallista maanantaina.
- En todellakaan tiedä, mitä hän vielä teki Malesiassa, McLarenin johtoon kuuluva henkilö ihmetteli lehdessä.

McLaren pestasi Laurenzin suurella rahalla BMW-Williamsilta viime vuonna.

Can any of our Finnish friends trans;ate this?

Apparently Werner Laurenz has been sacked from hiis job at Mercedes, and having been recently hired from BMW(for big amounts), surely they wouldn't sack him so soon?

EJ doesn't use e-mail - he doesn't even have computer

Right then, Bahrain. Its impossible to predict this one since its all dusty and shit everywhere and only the Willies and Button have had a lap. Also, the weather is a joke.

On that basis, I'm going for Montoya.

Weather:

Fri Apr 02 Partly Cloudy 30°/17° 20 %
Sat Apr 03 Mostly Sunny 32°/17° 10 %
Sun Apr 04 Partly Cloudy 34°/20° 30 %

I reckon the teams will have a tought time for this one, go and learn the track and risk engine blowing up or just staying behind for a few laps?

The third car willc ome in pretty useful here

Ok........

Michael Schumacher.

Ferrari has the best reliabiltty

No i don't

buit i think on a surface liek Bahrain where it's a green track, reliability always going to be a factor

When Michael Schumacher took control of Friday’s second practice here in Bahrain by almost a second, with less than 15 minutes gone, it looked as though it would be business as usual. But a gripping session evolved, suggesting that tomorrow’s qualifying and Sunday’s race are far from foregone conclusions.

True, Ferrari were still fastest courtesy of Rubens Barrichello’s 1m 41.450s. But literally the second after the Brazilian recorded that time, Juan Pablo Montoya took his Williams round in 1m 31.451s, so only one thousandth of a second separate two of the leading protagonists – and Bridgestone and Michelin. However, with three rear tyre failures – for Fernando Alonso, Anthony Davidson and David Coulthard, Michelin have some concerns to address overnight.

The session also began badly for McLaren when Kimi Raikkonen became the first victim of engine failure – as he began his first flying lap. Nick Heidfeld also failed to do more than five laps before his Jordan stopped with as-yet unidentified technical problems.

Davidson’s puncture came after he had covered 26 laps, but once a new left rear was fitted he burst back out to snatch third fastest time in the dying moments with 1m 31.488s, greatly boosting BAR’s hopes.

So where was Michael? After a spin he ended up fourth on 1m 31.732s but was quite happy with his Ferrari and thought he could have gone faster without traffic problems.

Besides Davidson, the other great surprise was Christian Klien’s speed in the second Jaguar, which he hauled into contention with fifth fastest time of 1m 31.789s late in the session. For once that eclipsed team mate Mark Webber, who was eighth on 1m 32.041s. The Austrian was very happy.

The Jaguar team mates were separated by Williams’ Ralf Schumacher and BAR’s Jenson Button, who lapped in 1m 31.842s and 1m 31.879s respectively. Both of them were quite happy with what they achieved.

Alonso was ninth for Renault after his tyre drama, the right rear Michelin on his R24 throwing its tread. He lapped in 1m 32.234s, but team mate Jarno Trulli stopped out on the track in Turn 11, with possible engine failure. He was only 18th.

Ricardo Zonta was again in strong form for Toyota with 10th fastest time of 1m 32.335s which edged out Coulthard, who had managed 1m 32.495s before his left rear tyre failure sent him spinning dramatically into the gravel in the downhill run to Turn 13. The Scot was chased by Takuma Sato, who lapped in 1m 32.680s but lost time when running over a discarded Renault barge board damaged his BAR’s front wing.

After the Heidfeld disappointment Jordan had something to be pleased about as Giorgio Pantano took 13th best time on 1m 32.708s to edge out Cristiano da Matta’s Toyota on 1m 32.761s.

Felipe Massa should have been ahead of them but spun his Sauber in Turn 13 after posting his best sector one and two times. Like many, the Brazilian discovered that while the racing line had plenty of grip, getting even slightly off it was like driving on ice. Toyota’s Olivier Panis was right behind Massa, the pair on 1m 33.031s and 1m 33.049s respectively, while an unwell Giancarlo Fisichella ( he was running a fever) was 17th on 1m 33.061s in the other Sauber.

Behind Trulli, Timo Glock stopped the clocks in 1m 33.695s for Jordan, heading the Minardi of Zsolt Baumgartner, Jaguar’s Bjorn Wirdheim and Minardi’s Gianmaria Bruni on 1m 34.054s, 1m 34.317s and 1m 34.791s respectively. That left Bas Leinders to take the third Minardi to 1m 36.248s, which was 1.5s faster than he went this morning.

All of the teams now have the data they need to make their tyre choices, which of course could change the closeness of the times tomorrow since some may not be able to run as soft a compound as they were today. Nevertheless, the signs are that Ferrari and Bridgestone will have stronger opposition here in Bahrain than they got in Australia and Malaysia.

Raikkonen will have to start 10 places behind hsi real qualifying position

Still say Montoya.
Mick will not win tomorrow, Rubens needs the best car to win, Ralf is shit, Alonso is too far back, so is Raikkonen, Coulthard is dirty shite, Trulli is....well Trulli, and Bunsen isn't quite there yet.

Monty to do it in Bahrain.

How the feck do you beat M$????

10 points M$

Well that was a bag of shit. I think I was right about most things except Mickey the Shoe. Ah well, at least there was a few good scraps going on down the field with Alonso/Klein/Webber/Raikkonen etc..., best in car footage of the season so far.

Bunsen got another podium, its becoming a habit.

M$ is a cnut.

Mercedes are as well, not suprisingly they're both Germans...

ANOTHER BLOW OUT FOR KIMI, wtf.

Button was good, got a bit of luck with that Juanker dropping back from third to 12th:lol::lol::lol:

Few great battles, Sato and Alonso, Klien and Raikkonen, Ralf with virtually everyone else
