The Europa League 2017/18(Use the SF thread to discuss the current match)

Nice showing by Arsenal. Tie over, this could get really ugly for CSKA, if it hasn't already.

RB Leipzig/Marseille, Salzburg/Lazio, Atletico and Arsenal in the semis is decent. Unless Simeone feels the EL is beneath him, Atletico are winning this, can't see it any other way.

Chelsea screwed Arsenal by dumping Atleti in the EL and then selling them Costa to boot.

Yes, forgot about the circumstances.

man, Ignashevich and Berezutski brothers are still playing... they have like 150 years together.

He already won it with Atleti few years back, so don't think itis beneath him.

So we play City and Arsenal before the most important games of their season. (UCL QF 2nd leg and UEL SF 2nd leg).

Man that is cruel. Arsenal would be clear favourites if Atletico wasn't in the competition. I think they've got to avoid them in the semis. Atletico will do them over 2 legs but in a one off final Arsenal have a much better chance.

I hope that Arsenal win the thing. I would love to see how Wenger justifies playing in the CL after the way he talked about us this season.

What a crazy last minute of first half play in Leipzig.

Corner for Leipzig, Augustin brings it down near the edge of the box, goes past two and has a penalty shout denied for what looked like a pen from the real time tv footage.

Marseille then counter instantly and get it all the way across the pitch within seconds, only to be denied twice by Leipzig’s goalie before Leipzig can eventually block a 3rd shot.

After that 3rd shot is blocked Leipzig again counter at full sprint and Werner goes 1v1 with a defender, goes past him, and scores through the legs of the goalie (massive blunder there on the goalie’s part).

All within a minute.

Think i might need to check this

Ramsey is such an odd, enigmatic player.

Sometimes he looks absolutely world class, and at others looks a pub-standard player.

He never seems to have a 5-6/10 performance. It's either 1 or 10.

In an Arsenal v Athletico final, anything can happen. However over 2 legs, I expect Athletico to win.
If Arsenal get drawn against Athletico in the semis and play the first leg away, then we've got a good chance imo. Athletico don't really need this as much as Arsenal do.

Why are Arsenal committing 5 or 6 players forward when they are 4-1 up? Either control the game by hogging the ball or counter attack them.

Also CSKA Moscow are playing far better than in the group stages of the CL, are they just better now or are Arsenal just that open?

Not sure Spanish sides see it that way. It is a trophy and as they say, you don't get a trophy for 2nd place. 800 minutes since Atletico have conceded a goal at home.

We are just that open.

Wilshere is useless. Don't understand the hype around that guy. Weakest link in Arsenal midfield. Even Xhaka is better than him and he's useless as well.
