The Europa League 2017/18(Use the SF thread to discuss the current match)

Laziooooo! As I said, Lazio/Salzburg was the game to watch. What a game! The 2nd leg will be even better.

de Vrij was incredible. F.Anderson as a 2nd striker gives me Fekir/Tevez vibes.

Immobile now has 37 in 41 I believe, crazy stats. Lazio have a potent attack, strong MID and average DEF. Certainly a darkhorse.
Their defence are pretty good - better than average. GK is a big prospect, wing-backs are good, CBs are good, de Vrij is brilliant.

Their key players for me are L.Alberto, Immobile, Lucas, de Vrij and Strakosha. Savic is a big prospect but pretty inconsistent, and F.Anderson has been brilliant since coming back but has yet to get a run of games to be considered such this season.

Inzaghi is doing a wonderful job with them.

Also, Golovin. The exact type of CM we should be looking at, imo.

they're skint I think. they used to have plenty of those Brazilian young players not so long ago, similar to Shakhtar. looks like they can't afford them no more and what they produce obviously isn't good enough, so they just continue to play Ignashevich and Berezustki brothers forever.
Well they have a defensive heritage! Jokes aside, they need to freshen the defense up this summer. WC will showcase a lot of good players.

Either they haven't signed one for ages or they sign old CB's.
Actually both IIRC
Well don't you think this statement is contradictory :p you can't sign an old cb if you haven't signed one for ages

Ozil was sublime vs CSKA. What a player.

All due respect (or sympathy) to Wenger, I'm hoping Arsenal don't win the Europa League, so it'll be easier for us to snap up Ozil next summer. :D

Only saw the highlights but it seemed Ozil was taking the piss out of CSKA, he's a level above this competition. Pissed that he's chosen to continue playing for this crap team in this crap competition.

Well, he's got it made in his personal life and doesn't seem to want to switch cities. Doubt Chelsea want him, so its' a fair decision for his own good. Clearly puts other things above football.

That's certainly true, he's already won the World Cup, which I'm sure is considered the pinnacle of a footballer's career, so he values his personal life over football acheivements now. Should look at this decision from that perspective as well.

But, I still want him to win trophies :D Don't think he has fulfilled his potential and a lot of that has to do with moving to Arsenal during the period which would've been the peak of his career.

I meant that they had not signed a CB for ages so they just let them get old.:p

If they are kept apart, wouldn't be at all surprised if it's Arsenal-Atletico in the final. Wonder how the Arsenal fans would react if, after a season where they have been mostly mediocre and they have been calling for Wenger to go, they ended up winning the EL and qualified for the CL.

He was the best midfielder in Europe afew years back...I lived in Islington and they were adamant he was the very best!

True enough there was a point on Arsenal mania when Ramsey was the best midfielder in the world on the back of one purple patch. He still is in the minds of some of the supporters. Embarrassing how some of them would go around saying I told you so during his purple patch and have since gone missing.

Deluded fans exist on ever board.

Their defence is nice on paper, but I feel like they switch off a lot as a unit, they’ve allowed 15 more goals than anyone else in Serie A top 5. Which is quite a margin.

But they really are a great team to watch. That F. Anderson 3-2 goal yesterday was amazing, and changed the whole tie. Lazio dominated after that and probably should have won 5 or 6-2.

Inzaghi is going to be a top coach in Europe very soon

Yay, RB already lead in Marseille! 2-0 on aggregate, now with away goal advantage!
Damn, the lead was not for long. 1-1 only 4 minutes later.

2-1 Marseille

Gulacsi with two great saves, but his defenders don't do shit.

Flashscore says, that you are having a pretty good game so far.

We are. Could have been 2-0 if not for Oblak and we deserved an away goal in the first leg.

I've just seen this happen too many times, we always get close and 99% of the time we end up hilariously fecking it up
