Suppose people are just waiting for the deadlines - to have their primary targets confirmed. No sense in nominating anyone until that happens, really.

Then again, what could possibly happen here? It would be surprising, not to say a bit bizarre, if someone suddenly decided to up a bid which has been standing for hours - there are only four of us, after all.

Well, the question is what format could have been chosen that would've been super exciting at this stage.

Snake would have been faster, of course. Sheep doesn't work - people are loaded with players who can do a job.

Could have done the old "steal and block" thing: Block one of your own players and try to grab one off the others.

I think it will work out pretty nicely, actually - at least in terms of getting four fairly interesting sides for the semis. It's pretty open, as I see it - which is a good thing.

Still - it's always about the relative strength of the teams. Having a functional second XI isn't necessarily an advantage here - it's just a bit...well, pointless, I suppose.

Yeah, Downcast just assembled (assuming his picks will go through) a perfect zona mista defence around Scirea for 30m with only Cabrini being possible to upgrade in the future and he still have enough funds to do pretty much everything.

Well, you can always introduce a surprise doping test

Given the state of the teams, and the 100m thing, and the fact that there will be just one injury before the final - then, yeah, I don't think that's unreasonable.

For me, though, it's mainly a question of which measures actually work in terms of keeping it interesting. Like I said earlier, the upside to introducing more bamboozlin' is - well - the fun of bamboozlin' as such, people going into meltdown, etc. But the downside - at this late stage of the thing - is that screwing things up at random could potentially settle the outcome, to a degree which isn't very entertaining.
