Still, we could play it cold: it's up to the manager whether he wants to have his criteria confirmed as he goes along - or whether he prefers to risk it.

Re: the Intertoto. It's obviously a bollocks cup which could be regarded - at least in that format - as just a way to qualify for the UEFA cup.
So, I certainly wouldn't mind it being disregarded. But it does count as a trophy, officially, even though it had multiple winners at times (in one and the same season, that is).

Intertoto cup does not count as a trophy surely ?
Intertoto was somewhat pointless and less important, tbf. Think that should be allowed ?
Clarifications do say that it's only basically European trophies, domestic cups and Leagues. Not Super Cup etc..

It does, officially. But so does the Charity Shield and all sorts of "super cups" and what have ya.
For my money it's not a proper trophy - but it was a proper competition, I guess, with multiple rounds and ties.
Like feck does Intertoto count, it doesn't even have a singular winner, it was glorified Uefa Cup qualifying.

Doesn't count. Teams applied to take part and highest ranked teams not in UEFA or CL got in. Wasn't even mandatory. Didn't even have a proper winner. From 2006-08 there were 11 co-winners.
So yes, you're definitely right in that it doesn't count.

Re: East Germany it was clarified. I originally was going to allow it as per discussion in the other thread, however before we started the draft Aldo suggested place of birth which in actual fact I agreed with the theory behind it. The place of birth clarification had been there since the beginning of the draft. To be, it is logical to say East/West Germany and Germany are the same nations overall.
@Chesterlestreet haha you always find the ridiculously difficult scenarios =P. For simplicity I would just say Juventus trophies count in that period.

I know some of the criteria are challenging and there is no right or wrong answer to what can or can't qualify but ultimately I need to make a choice somehow which is as black and white as possible, and that isn't always easy. For example, @Stobzilla has a good case to why Davids could be classed as a different nation but unfortunately I had already gone down the independence path. Also I think that would be a lot harder to verify.

Doesn't matter which country as long as it's the top division there. A player could have won a title in Jamaica and still be valid!

Yes. As long as Montenegro or the country he plays for now/did play for aren't in the top 30.

My first two picks Keane and Scholes was not so much tought over but since I got the partnership there I feel happy with them. I just found time to sit down and try to make some kind of plan for the whole draft. IT REALLY IS HARD with the criterias and I like it. The player pool is not that deep in all areas so this should really be fun.
Yep. The reality is you can't field a squad of world class players. Somewhere along the line you'll need to compromise. Should be good.

Poor Djembas, I was watching "Fergies 2000 goals" yesterday, they looked like world beaters in their first couple of months with us. A shame it never worked out for them in the end.
