YepFor the Top 30 nations list, the OP link is not working. Are you all suing http://www.fifa.com/worldranking/rankingtable/ ?
which part pisses you off?
Was looking for ways to fit in my pick Fabio Cannavaro and constantly kept missing the "never won a CL" criteria which I had assigned for a GK(Everybody knows who).
Sorry for taking some time.
There is not a criteria for 'never wining a CL', its not having played in any European competition is it not ?Was looking for ways to fit in my pick Fabio Cannavaro and constantly kept missing the "never won a CL" criteria which I had assigned for a GK(Everybody knows who).

Do they have to have played minutes or are they ineligible if their team played in Europe too even if they didn't play.
@rpitroda Just to get this straight - the "no CL/EL or equivalent" criterion means, in practice, no European football of any meaningful kind, right? The old European Cup, the old Cup Winner's Cup and the old UEFA cup - all these are out. Correct?
The ridiculous and already debated Intertoto Cup should also disqualify a player, I reckon - as that too was clearly part of what is the Europa League today.

Bit of a tricky one, in terms of the other rules, I'd say.
A "non trophy" season and a "league winning" season, for instance, is down to the player having been registered for the club for a whole season (July/August to May/June). As I understand it. Whether he was injured all season or played fifty games doesn't matter.
So, by that logic, a player can't have been registered for a squad which participated in a European competition.
However, if you can prove that player X never actually featured in a match squad in a European competition - in spite of his team taking part - then I guess you'd have a case. Up to Trip, though - the examples of this sort of thing can't be plentiful.
I think this criteria is different to the league winning/non-trophy season one though. For example, if you applied a no. of games rule to those, where do you draw the line. If you played 1 game, do you count as being part of a league winning side? Or would you need a minimum of 5? It's a bit complicated, it's easier to just be registered at the club being enough. Plus, there is many options for these players. Finding a playe rwho hasn't played in Europe's top 2 competitions is extremely hard.
Being at a club which was in Europe however not playing means you still meet the criteria, immo.
Indeed - not least since it varies from federation to federation how many matches (starter/sub and what have you) you need to get a medal.
But, to sum it up, if a manager can prove that Player X did not feature in any match during any European (CL/EL/old EC, old CWC, old UEFA Cup) campaign during his career, he's good to go.
OR: A manager has to prove that Player X did not feature in any match SQUAD during any...and so forth...both these could be used as premises.*
* I'm just feckin' with you, really, Trip. I can't imagine this being an actual issue/relevant difference. But you never know.

Aaaaaaaarrrrgggggghhhhh. I demand a free player from your squad!
But yeah, it's no. 1. Being in a squad which is in Europe doesn't matter as long as they ain't actually played.
Qualifiers count though.

Does he qualify for a major criteria?Nooooooooo
