The Criteria Draft - The Drafts

I'd love to have a "Caf Grand Champion Draft". All the winners, finalists and semi finalists of past drafts go head to head in a quest to find the best draft player on the Caf. If it's still lacking in numbers, the managers with the best overall record in previous drafts can join in. Rules would be unforgiving, taking into account the high calibre of managers. No changing picks, no gentleman's agreements, no PM conversations asking for help, no re-enforcements etc.
This would only work if past winners and semi finalists are all available to take part.

Well actually I can fix 8&9, however one of my other criteria will then be fecked so ill end up with 1 sheep. Hopefully he can be my 12th man.

Only thing I really think I did wrong was getting Gallas instead of Costacurta. I do not know how I missed him as a WC final loser.

Messi in a free role at RiF and given the freedom to use his speed and ball control to do whatever he wants, Lahm and Zambrotta providing width with Sammer as the libero who starts the attacks and sends the ball forward to Messi Eto'o or Kanchelskis, Cocu in LCM to cover for Zambrotta's weaker defensive abilities, while Lahm can cope alone. Team prepared to soak pressure than send Messi-Kanchelskis-Eto'o forward and hit on the break.

I can see that working pretty well. Concerns would be around how Kanchelskis fits in and the lack of pace between Hyppia and De Boer. Positives would be De Boer's delivery from deep, Sammer and Cocu having the intelligence to make it work, Messi and Eto'o dovetailing like they did for Guardiola.What do you guys reckon?

Nice. It's hard to think of a better player than Raul to make a 4-4-2 work in the modern game and it's an easy slip into an under-the-cosh 4-4-1-1.Starting to look like a team!

Yeah I agree about most your points. Kanchelskis imo can play that position well, it's not ideal you can't doubt it, but with Messi and Eto'o I don't see a problem of him helping to kick start attacks from left. Again, with Zambrotta given enough freedom to roam forward he'll get plenty of freedom.
