The Criteria Draft - The Drafts

Oh. In Mike Phelan's holy name I now realize you were talking about your own team, Trip.

Disappointing. I thought you had decided on some new, draconian rules which would've rendered all our picks useless.

Anyway, I'm off. Won't be back until tomorrow morning. No idea who I'll pick either, so I won't send a damn thing to any of you plonkers.

Will check in within 8hrs, though. I need to be up by then (horribly enough), so that's covered.

That phase is next, once my new plan is naturally blown to shreds like my penis by the ladies.

And that's where you are going wrong. Look at me - no plan, no tears!

I wanted Lizarazu...

Hadn't seen the white text. :D I was wondering why nobody wanted Lizarazu considering there are so few quality full-backs about.

Question with regard to transfer etiquette.

For example, can I PM @rpitroda and say I want Rio Ferdinand. Rpitroda says tough luck - you have nobody I would trade for him.

I say ok, who WOULD you want? Rpitroda says Player X. I say ok, and pick player X next and trade him.. Is that fair?

Yes. I think so. Why not? You make a valid pick and then trade the player.

Sorry, was going to pick before I went to bed but I must have been tired..

Hard luck on players picked yesterday but woke up with a nice PM. Have been trying to trade Beckham for my side.

This was the PM from @Edgar Allan Pillow

"I can let you have Beckham if you can pick Jari Litmanen in coming pick. Still Interested?" Hell yes I am interested!

Therefore I pick Jari Litmanen

So what do you guys think so far of this?

Weah ST
LW Scholes Keane Beckham
Evra CB CB RB
GK
Might be open for trade offers on George Weah.

Great trade guys. I love trades they add depth. Somehow ED got beckham as a fifth pick .

Not sure if Scholes and this Keane fellah would suit each other. A United theme always wins pretty much if done well so it looks bright for you.

What did we decide about players who were born in yugoslavia(or represented it) and are now playing for a separate country?

Do they count under number 5?

@rpitroda

Also what about players who just played for Yugoslavia or Soviet Union ? And none of the divided countries ?

Aye that's fair.

Mate this is all written in the clarifications... It might be worth you reading through. Basically it depends where you're born. If you played for another different area when the countries split then you count. Eg. Born in what is the Slovakian land of Czechoslovakia when it exists but played for Czech Republic.

I don't understand your Q. If they only played for one country that they were born in then nope...? :P

If someone desperately needs a player and has someone for offer, depending on who I may well be interested in trading my next pick for their player. Hit me up with a PM.

Heh. Trade him for Giggsy and you're done. You could sport my gran in goal and still win the thing.

Having Keane, Scholes and Beckham in a team is awesome.

I'd vote for that team just for the immense love I've for them.

I know, three personal favourites and Evra on top of that. I like my team so far.

Yep - and if Giggs was there, it'd all be too much. He could field Djemba Djemba at centre back and I'd still probably vote for him.

I can see where Edgar's coming from, to be fair. It's not easy to use Beckham effectively. The one set-up in which he's undeniably a world beater - is precisely one with Keane and Scholes in the middle. There's no confusion about his role - a point which has been raised every time I've seen him picked for a draft team: "Is he a winger, is he a wide midfielder, what exactly does he do...?"

He gets the ball in the box and on top of people's heads son!
