Television The Boys

I have to say, their marketing game is absolutely spot on.

Enjoyed episode 5. Saw people worrying when they heard there was a musical episode. I thought this execution fit perfectly with the story and wasn't too distracting at all. I made the mistake of reading some of the reviews on Amazon as I was about to start it. I guess I didn't realize it's getting review bombed for being "woke", and saying Nazis are bad I guess.

That's hilarious

and reminds me of:

Another strong episode, cannot fault this season at all. Even with the supposed musical element was kept brief and relevant.

Got to be a showdown between Soldier Boy and Homelander. My money is on Solider boy sapping his powers much like he did with Kimiko.

I genuinely think this is the best show I’ve watched since seasons 1-4 of GOT or Breaking Bad. It’s incredible.

The Seth Rogen cameo
 just finished the episode and that bit was brilliant.

I'm surprised that so many people are online complaining about the "wokeness". Everything gets thrown under that umbrella nowadays but if you're watching a show where certain people are being wankers and your first response is to complain about wokeness then I'm assuming you're seeing yourself in those characters and not enjoying being called out. Kind of makes you a bit of a snowflake, doesn't it?

Are there? People are dumb.

In fairness the A-Train plot is a bit boring, mainly because he doesn't feel relevant as a character anymore and those scenes just get in the way of the real fun.

I mean it's definitely a woke TV series. It's taking direct shots at corporate culture, American exceptionalism, the alt-right, the all lives matter gang, right-wing media (and corporate media in general), etc. And that's perfectly fine with me.

The fact that certain people are rattled means its working, and makes it even better.

The best part is that it's already established that Seth Rogen exists in this universe, so that was actually Seth Rogen.

Yeah didn't he say that he worked with one of the monkeys?

Agreed.

If there are people who watch the show and get rattled by that it just shows how much has flown over their heads so far

They are the personification of the weak stepfather of MMs daughter.

Best thing since Rick and Morty for me. Unless they feck it up GoT bad, it's going in my top 10.

It's the complaints that it has become woke that baffle me. Like, how badly were they interpreting what they saw in the first two seasons?

Nothing really happened, felt like a bridge into another episode.

I feel like something significant happened in the relationship between Frenchie and Kimiko, and in the relationship between Annie and Hughie. The Soldier Boy plot also got moved solidly forward. I guess you could call it boring if you want, I just don't see how it's ever a filler episode.

Give me more Soldier Boy. Give me Soldier Boy and Homelander. Give me Jensen Ackles and Antony Starr in general.

Wasn't boring, just gagging for more action. It's a great show.

Like early Thrones, even the “filler” episodes of this show are excellent.

That musical scene was so pointless and out of place, what the feck.
Might be false hope but I'm expecting some sort of payoff at the end of the season because that's now twice where she's had these singing fantasies.

Love that it's hitting a bit too close to home for some people. Think it was probably the Linsey Graham bit that upset a certain group of fragile people.

SB seems pretty badass, solid casting again.
