Sorry I misread it. BTW there was an interview with Colbert where Biden was asked whether he would appoint Obama as Supreme Court justice and Biden said yes but I don't think he's interested.

Its different things. Like it or not Tara Reade has made public allegations against a public figure. That can be discussed on its own merits without acting condescending towards people you don't know IMO.
 
Just watching the press conference. Joe really is sleepy. Also, all the facts and proposals are boring me. I miss Trump already. :(

For what its worth I had no problems with the initial exchange, its just that staff members are expected to be impartial and objective. I wouldn't have any issue if you were a random member expressing your opinion either. Based on the other persons post, it was a fair to assume that a notable public figure like Biden would have achieved much more in the last three years than him. In fact, I didn't even think it was a serious comparison, otherwise it'd be delusional.

Not really fair at all. Its nonsensical. You'd have to take all the good you believe Biden did, then subtract the ills from things like supporting Iraq war, financial deregulation, and the crime bill. Then quantify all that. An impossible and entirely subjective task.
It also shuts down discussion. Better to just debate the topic on its own merits and not make an appeal based loosely on the Great Person view of history.

I hate this mindset. Biden (and many major politicians) have done more evil to the world in a week sized sample than most people will in a lifetime. And what’s the sneering comparison (not you but the guy who first made it) even trying to achieve? That you can’t criticise some public figure because of the perceived “good” they’ve done to the world?
