Federer's serves are still ridiculously good.
He'll win because once the ball is in play, Federer lacks weapons. For example, I've seen Federer play exactly one of his trademark killer inside-out forehands. Most of his groundstrokes are so tame today...

8/10 performance from Djokovic, still more than enough to beat Federer. Great tournament from Fed though, he's just past his best and Djok and Nadal will always beat him in slams.
This is true and makes me feel old. I remember a rising tennist star (at the beginning of the last decade) called Roger Federer who went to become the best ever tennis player.

Wise up Pirate! Since the 1st Tiebresk loss Djok has moved away from trying to isolate Feds backhand and been far more aggressive with his shot selection, his percentages have hardly dropped despite playing lower percentage shots.
Feds needs to do the same as in that break game, really open up or he'll be out in 4.

Djokovic was able to do that because it is plain to see that Roger can't create pressure from either wing. Add to that the silly net charges after weak set ups and this is were we're at. Djokovic is dominating the rallies and Federer can't pull the trigger.

Fact is hes playing one of the fittest, most athletic and best defenders ever to play - who is also playing with such good length... it's just a great match and to say Federer has been poor or just isn't good enough is tosh.
Some of the tennis today, from both players, has been absolutely stunning.

Federer hasn't definitely been at his best. A 2004-2010 Federer would have destroyed this Djokovic.

Where the game has really been lost so far from Feds' point of view is Djoks serve, it's been awesome, 1st and 2nd, but usually Feds would get a good read and return well, creating break opportunities but far too many have been floated over or out for easy djok points.
You could tell that the last 6 finals were playing on his mind then. He just completely went into his shell and stopped going for winners.
